Engineering Supervisor
You perform highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain the property’s facilities and equipment to ensure a safe and functional environment for the guests.
Responsibilities:
- Able to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays as needed
- Responsible for managing the Royal Service work order process including assigning and following up on Work Order tickets.
- Responsible for all Administrative tasks including, but not limited to, Payroll, scheduling, Purchase orders, dispatching, following up on tickets, gathering contractor bids and all other tasks as assigned by the Director and Assistant Director of Engineering
- Assigning guestroom preventative maintenance work including pre-punching room, training and following up.
- Conducts routine inspections and walk through of all hotel rooms and public areas.
- Work together with The Plaza management team and especially the housekeeping team to make sure that the guestrooms is flawless with everything in working order.
- Work with the Engineers, Engineering management and IT team to fine tune, repair and maintain the various technology systems associated with The Plaza such as the AMX and Savant system control panels, TV, Internet and telephone systems.
- Maintains effective Energy Management.
- Performs miscellaneous duties and assists The Director of Engineering and Engineering manager as directed
Requirements:
-College degree preferred or at least 2 years of progressive related experience with a High School Diploma.
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office, Opera, Birchstreet, and Dayforce
- Must have excellent oral, written, communication and organizational skills
- Self-starter, ability to make decisions with a high level of common sense
- Minimum of one year hotel experience is required
- Previous supervisory experience preferred.
- Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly.
- Must be able to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately.
- Must work well in stressful, high pressure situations.
- Must maintain composure and objectivity under pressure.
- Must be effective at handling problems in the workplace, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving problems as necessary.
- Must have the ability to assimilate complex information, data, etc. from disparate sources and consider, adjust, or modify to meet the constraints of a particular need.
- Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying the concerns and issues raised by coworkers and guests.
