Job Description
We are currently recruiting for an Engineering Supervisor to join our Siemens Mobility Rail Infrastructure business. As a site independent employee, you will travel between Bodmin and Truro among other places as needed. You will work with our existing team to ensure that the highest standard of work is being produced, while supervising general operations. What are your responsibilities? Identify risks associated with the work site and instigate protection arrangements for a safe system of work. Plan work, attend planning meetings and assist with SSOW packs according to the standard NR/L2/OHS/019 (Safety of People working on or near the line) and / or create a permit in proscient according to the standard NR/L2OHS/133 (Planning & Delivering Safe Work). Set up possession/ protection arrangements as described in the Rule book as ES Ensure efficiency and workmanship of staff is of the required standard. Ensure all site operations are carried out safely and in accordance with relevant standards including undertaking periodic site safety checks. Report on accidents/near misses as required. Brief all COSS's on selected method of protection and any hazards identified within the worksite. Record briefing in accordance with company procedures. Ensure all relevant site records and paperwork is maintained as required in accordance with company procedures. Carry out briefings on relevant safety bulletins/alerts and tool box talks. Record the briefings in accordance with company procedures. Establish and maintain effective, clear communications with the signaller, PICOP and COSS's / SWL's Maintain as a minimum competency as Engineering Supervisor, COSS Undertake any other sentinel competent duties if qualified as required. What do you need to qualify for this role? Essential: Excellent communication skills both written and verbal Previous Management or supervisory experience Relevant engineering qualification or experience in a relevant engineering environment Must be IT literate Strong organisation/planning skills. Preferred: Rail industry experience 2/3 years engineering supervisor experience Good understanding of Health, Safety and environment legislation/procedures. About us We’re Siemens.
