Job Description
At Siemens Mobility Limited, we are looking for a Engineering Technical Assistant for our Rail Infrastructure business in Manchester. The role of the Technical Assistant will be to assist the engineering team with the engineering process to ensure that the maximum output is optimised for producing detailed signalling design and implementing it onto the railway infrastructure. What are my responsibilities? Assist with production of Project Documentation for the design and project engineering teams. Assist with the production and upkeep of monthly engineering reviews. Production and presentation of monthly engineering dashboards. Assist with the production and upkeep of the engineering teams safety tours schedule, collating the results and sharing raised safety concerns with the business Assist with collating and submission of monthly resource profiles. Input into the continuous improvement initiatives for the engineering teams. Assist in the organising and chairing of the lessons learnt meetings post commissioning and share the outputs with the business. Assist with the production and upkeep of monthly design risk reviews. Assist with on-site design documentation (commissioning/maintenance copies) for planned commissioning’s. Support the commissioning’s on site with technical assistance. Assist with production and upkeep of the design metric spreadsheet. Production of site documentation from Production Office Copies. Produce transmittal documentation. General support for the design, project engineering and testing teams as required. What Skills, Qualifications and Experience do I need for this role? Experience in rail industry or substation design. Deep understanding and practical application of Microsoft Excel, a sound knowledge and experience of Microsoft Word. Knowledge of Design Control Process, design tools, (Training will be given) Background in rail or construction industry (preferred) Innovative, enthusiastic approach to work, ready to learn from and challenge colleagues within a high-performing team of system design experts. Excellent mathematical and engineering aptitude. System design demands the ability to visualise and handle complex inter-relationships. Good knowledge of Project Safety requirements. Excellent communication skills. Understanding of task, time and people management. Positive and enthusiastic approach to continual personal development and team working. About us We’re Siemens.
