Summary of Position:

Inspect works in progress to assure compliance with Engineering Specifications and Plant Policies. Coordinate with the different plant functions, the support required for the implementation of Engineering Projects. Support drafting, design and records services to all the technical disciplines in the Engineering Department, including preparation, maintenance, distribution and control of all pertinent engineering design and construction drawings including specifications and equipment files.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Coordinate the execution of construction activities by outside contractors/personnel within the plant premises.

• Coordinate approval of work permits for assigned works.

• Adheres to plant Safety, Environmental, and GMP regulations.

• Take system concept sketches and develop finished drawing packages and participate in project planning teams, and meets schedule for delivery of assigned tasks.

• Assist in the different phases of the design, engineering and  construction of projects, as required.

• Prepare, review and revise relevant engineering drawings and documents.

• Maintain and controls Equipment files, equipment list, and piping specifications.

• Provide drafting and design services to all the technical disciplines of the Engineering Department.

• Assure proper engineering drawings maintenance and control, to assure regulatory compliance.

• Inspect works in progress to assure compliance with Engineering Specifications and Plant Policies. 

Technical Qualification:

• Computer literate (Word, Excel, Power Point)

• Capable of creating and/or reproducing drawings using computerized CAD or manual systems

• Knowledgeable on chemical processes and equipment (Chemical Plants)

• Project management knowledge/skills

• Technical writing & reporting skills

• Able to interpret and convert units of measure such as temperature, pressure, flow, area,

mass, distance, volume or other

• Mathematical Reasoning: Add, substract, multiply, divide and calculate percentages as well as able to use a calculator or other associated electronic equipment

• Ability to follow written procedures and/ or verbal instructions communications by telephone, fax or shortwave radios.

• Ability to understand technical drawings

Education

Essential: Associate degree in Civil, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or Design Technology

Job Experience

Essential: two (2) to three (3) years of experience in Engineering Projects  (if applicable)  Inspection  (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical) disciplines.

Desirable: Knowledge of chemical plant design and /P&ID’s
