Job Description
I. Language Proficiency
Native - like Fluency: Possess native - like or near - native fluency in English, with a wide vocabulary and excellent command of grammar, including complex sentence structures and idiomatic expressions.
Pronunciation and Intonation: Have a clear and standard English pronunciation with natural intonation. Be able to teach and correct the learner's pronunciation accurately, helping them to sound more natural and understandable.
Language Varieties: Be familiar with different English language varieties (such as British English, American English, Australian English, etc.) and be able to explain the differences in vocabulary, pronunciation, and grammar when necessary.
II. Teaching and Tutoring Skills
Customized Lesson Plans: Be able to design personalized lesson plans according to the learner's English proficiency level, learning goals (e.g., improving speaking for daily communication, preparing for an English exam, enhancing business English skills), and learning pace.
Interactive Teaching: Adopt an interactive teaching approach to keep the learner engaged during the practice sessions. Use various teaching methods such as role - plays, discussions, debates, and games to make the learning process more interesting and effective.
Error Correction: Provide timely and constructive feedback on the learner's language errors, including grammar mistakes, pronunciation issues, and inappropriate word usage. Explain the correct forms and usage clearly and patiently.
Cultural Knowledge: Incorporate relevant cultural knowledge into the practice sessions. For example, introduce English - speaking countries' customs, traditions, social norms, and cultural references to help the learner better understand and use the language in different contexts.
III. Professionalism and Availability
Punctuality: Be punctual for all scheduled practice sessions. Arrive on time or notify the learner in advance in case of any unavoidable delays or cancellations.
