Eaton is seeking a Enterprise Architect – Master Data Management to join our team. Position Overview: At Eaton we are modernizing the way we use data to accelerate our digital transformation. In this role, you will own the architecture of our next generation Master Data Management ecosystem for the enterprise. You will work with the Director of Master Data Management in selection, planning and implementation of our next generation Master Data platform. You are expected to lead the technical aspects of the selection and planning process with support from the delivery organization. You will also drive discussions with business leadership on establishing data ownership and stewardship for domains including Customer, Supplier, Product, Material, Hierarchy, Reference and other enterprise-wide domains. In addition to this, as part of the Enterprise architecture team, you will be responsible for establishing standard & guidelines, architecture patterns, reusable assets/decision trees to improve productivity and risk mitigation. Essential Responsibilities: Provide technical oversight for Eaton's next generation Master Data Management strategy as part of the overall Eaton IT enterprise architecture and business strategy. Partner with business stakeholders and program delivery team to: Define architecture for co-existence (customer) and transactional (product) implementation styles of MDM. Define critical data elements (CDEs), data quality, survivorship rules, lineage to ensure consistency across the enterprise landscape, aligning to enterprise data, architecture, and security standards. Establish operational service level agreements and key performance indicators for MDM and solutions including data pipeline quality, platform availability and metadata management. Ensure solutions are secure, scalable, highly performant and governed in accordance with data privacy and regulatory requirements. Establish a comprehensive solution for reference data and hierarchy data management Own the architecture stream in road-mapping discussions and provide inputs on feasibility and directional effort and schedule estimations. Drive and influence MDM solution provider roadmaps to align to Eaton’s unique data requirements. As an Enterprise MDM Architect: Ensure next gen MDM aligns with the overall data strategy (True North) which is based on data mesh principles / data products. Establish standards and guidelines for the implementation team and use influence to expedite the decision making and improve speed of delivery. Work with other relevant Enterprise architects to ensure compliance of MDM architecture. Be a thought leader in the MDM space, and introduce new ideas around MDM to executives. Qualifications Qualifications - Internal Required (Basic) Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university required. A minimum of 10 years of data management experience required. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship both now and in the future. No relocation benefit is provided for this position. Candidates must be within a 50-mile radius of any Eaton location to be considered for this opportunity. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation. Preferred qualifications: MBA or advanced degree preferred, from an accredited institution Position Criteria: Deep knowledge of MDM concepts, benefits, best practices and challenges. Demonstrated experience implementing master data platforms and tooling in domains such as Customer, Product and Hierarchy. Demonstrated experience with in architecting complex master data management systems involving over 20 ERPs, multiple domains and co-existence and transactional implementation styles. Strong understanding of ERP, CRM and PLM systems to accelerate integration and outcome delivery. Demonstrated experience with implementing solutions to monitor and improve data quality across multiple domains. Experience on Reltio connected data platform is an advantage. Experience on data integration patterns especially in an SaaS MDM scenario (batch, ETL, event, API etc.) Knowledge about 3rd party data sources (e.g. D&B, data marketplaces etc.) to enrich our master data. Experience establishing & maintaining relationships with individuals at all levels of the organization, in the business community & with vendors. Experience diagnosing, isolating, and resolving complex issues and recommending and implementing strategies to resolve problems. Experience identifying operational issues and recommending and implementing strategies to resolve problems. Experience interacting at the executive level and influencing leadership and key stakeholders on technology solutions. Experience managing high-level technical delivery. Experience applying knowledge of the new processes and concepts in IT management, structure and organization. Experience in management consulting.
