The next wave of innovation for motors and drives The “Digital Drive Train” (DDT) is a portfolio of digital offerings supporting the engineering and operation of a drive train (e.g., industrial motor and inverter) – providing, for instance, engineers with a virtual representation of the drive train for faster and more accurate engineering, faster commissioning and users who are seeking for an optimization of their operation e.g. with a predictive maintenance solution to avoid unplanned down times. Such digital offerings are not only an emerging business on their own, but they are also vital to ensure the future competitiveness of the entire Siemens drive train portfolio. Customers increasingly demand digitally enriched motors and inverters to e.g., know in advance about a potential failure of a motor, estimate the remaining lifetime, and take data-based operational decisions thanks to automated interpretations of anomalies in operations. Furthermore, the DDT is an important ingredient to optimize the performance and the environmental footprint of a drive train. In order to further drive our ambitious business plans and bring our offerings to the entire market we serve with our motors and inverters, we have decided to address DDT PLM Process, Patents and Intellectual Properties, Project and System Management and OT/IT Architecture in one unit. This unit will design and create cross value stream open architectures that allow for integration in customer ecosystems and scalability of DDT portfolio. Do you want to co-define the DDT enterprise architecture? Do you have what it takes to further innovate our DDT portfolio to scale platform agnostic? Are you keen to investigate new technologies and drive their absorption into our DDT portfolio? If yes, then you are the right person for us! What will be your main responsibilities? Develop the architectural vision and breakdown to key developments steps from MVP to a fully functional product Take active control of the integration of new technologies and methods associated with the DDT scalable open architecture in accordance with principles of containerization, cloud and DevOps Enable new use cases/ features of the DDT architecture by exploring and defining options of technical solutions and decide with the product management team on the best implementation Drive the necessary implementation steps closely working together with our agile project leads, portfolio owners and R&D teams Coordinate the architecture of the DDT architecture components and ensure in-line implementation with the overall architectural visions and according to the users of the platform Actively communicate and align the architecture of the DDT with other platforms especially working with the customer ecosystems. Present and communicate architecture decisions within Siemens and customer (both to management and technical stakeholders) Your qualification You have a technical degree, such as Information Technology, Business Computing, Software Engineering, or Industrial Engineering You know your way around in OT and IT especially in edge and cloud computing You have profound knowledge on cloud systems (e.g., AWS (Amazon Web Services), Microsoft Azure, etc.), designing software services, and shaping API’s to scale. You have many years of experience as Software Architect in an agile environment (Scrum, SAFe) focusing on software design and development Customer /market understanding, knowledge in platform business or experience in innovation and digital transformation projects is a plus You are characterized by a high level of communication skills and social competence You are self-driven, analytical minded, pragmatic and solution oriented being able to drive topics from vision to implementation You are fluent in English – German is a plus You can look forward to: Being part of a highly motivated, startup-like team.
