ADI’s Aerospace and Defense business unit has an open position for an entry-level RF/Microwave IC Design Engineer who will design state-of-the-art microwave integrated circuits for active electronically steered antenna arrays. You will work in a collaborative team environment, mentored by a group of skilled microwave design engineers. In addition, you will work with IC layout engineers to create the final IC layout, and with product and test engineers to ultimately create a released product.

 

Successful candidate will have an MSEE or 5 years of prior IC design experience, and a strong desire to work in the cutting-edge microwave IC design area. Some experience with Cadence IC design software and/or Keysight ADS is desirable, but not required. Since our products include military and satellite applications, US citizenship or Permanent resident status is required.

Essential Responsibilities:              

 

  • Microwave IC design and layout of circuit blocks including: amplifiers, phase shifters, attenuators & mixers
  • Perform signal chain performance calculations and tradeoffs
  • Perform parasitic extraction and circuit simulation to optimize circuit performance
  • Work with IC layout engineers to create the final top-level IC layout
  • Coordinate with product and test engineers to define test plans

 

Minimum Qualifications:

 

  • New college graduate with MSEE or BSEE degree with 5 years experience
  • Understanding of the fundamentals of analog and digital circuit design
  • Understanding of basic transmission line theory
  • Linux/Unix basic proficiency
  • Previous IC design experience with Cadence desirable, but not required
  • US citizenship or Permanent resident status required
