The Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) team is part of the Corporate Services organization within Intel. Corporate Services (CS) touches the lives of every Intel employee every day. As a Environmental Engineer your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for the development, co-ordination, continuous improvement and management of site environmental programs, such as waste, ground and surface water, air emissions, hazardous and non-hazardous waste, noise etc.
  • Responsible for responsibility for the compliance of all applicable environmental regulations, government requirements and Intel policies for air and or water, waste, or other environmental programs.
  • Play a key role in sustaining the site Environmental Management System and compliance with the site Environmental License and ISO14001 standard. This includes upkeep of the system documentation, the implementation of the EMS improvement program, incident investigation and root cause analysis.
  • Understand how all environmental programs work by supporting all Environmental Engineers at the site with a view to becoming a primary owner for one of the environmental media programs, with additional responsibility as secondary owner for other programs.
  • Influence organizations to maintain environmental performance and limit Intel's environmental footprint.
  • Team with other EHS professionals on a site, regional and global level to share learnings, increase innovation and drive synergy throughout Intel.
  • Partner with site, regional and global stakeholders to increase environmental awareness, tracking, analyzing and reporting environmental indicators and driving continuous improvement efforts.
  • Prepare and submit required environmental reports, indicators, permit applications and modifications with high degree of quality.
  • Interface with appropriate regulatory agencies. Develop solutions to problems utilizing formal education and engineering judgment.
  • Support accident and incident investigation and root cause analysis.
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance to regulatory requirements and internal standards.
  • Analyze data, identify trends, and define focus areas.
  • Work approx. a six-month U.S. factory or Technology Development assignment before permanently relocating to the Ohio Site.

Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Position not eligible for Intel immigration sponsorship.

Minimum Qualifications:

The candidate must have one of the following:

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Science, or related discipline with 5+ years of direct work experience in an industrial EHS role

  • Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Science, or related discipline with 4+ years of direct work experience in an industrial EHS role

  • PhD degree in Environmental Engineering, Science, or related discipline with 1+ years of direct work experience in an industrial EHS role

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Coursework or relevant work experience relating to environmental regulations, sampling, emission data analysis and report writing.
  • Understanding of Federal/State regulatory requirements in Air, Wastewater or Hazardous Waste.
  • Demonstrate a high level of technical and scientific competence in the application of the EHS fundamentals e.g., recognition, evaluation, control, and prevention of occupational safety, health, and environmental hazards.
  • Semi-conductor business acumen.
  • Knowledge of:
    • Ohio State regulatory requirements in Air, Wastewater or Waste.
    • EHS Management Systems, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 50001, and their practical application to industry.
