Position Overview: The primary function of this role is to work with the site EHS team to support the plant’s environmental health and safety management system. This is a fast-paced role is ideal for a confident self-starter eager to learn and contribute in a high-performing environment focused on continuous improvement. The successful candidate will report to the EHS Manager. Essential Functions: Collaborate with EHS and the plant’s MESH Champions to facilitate compliance with the local and corporate requirements and drive rapid improvement in key site EHS programs, such as emergency response, powered industrial trucks, lockout/tagout, fall protection, waste management and machine safeguarding. Coordinate activities helping to prepare the plant for its validated EHS audit, eg. coaching employees and leaders, scheduling, room bookings and Gemba walks. Support the plant’s Joint Health and Safety Committee, helping to directly resolve hazards they identify. Deliver and coordinate health and safety training to production and office employees. Participate in plant 5S+ activities, LEAN events and weekly EHS-related kaizens. Complete monthly first aid, eyewash, safety shower and spill kit inspections. Perform data entry of incidents into the corporate tracking system, Prism. File hard copy and electronic copy EHS records. Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: Working toward or having recently completed a college diploma or university degree in an engineering, science or technical discipline with direct relevance to EHS. No Sponsorship. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in Canada on an ongoing basis without company sponsorship. No relocation provided. Preferred qualifications: Working toward or having recently completed a college diploma or university degree with a specialization in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Management. Prior EHS work experience, ideally in an industrial environment. Position Criteria: Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment as part of a team. Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills. Strong analytical aptitude and complex problem-solving skills. Intermediate knowledge of MS Office (including Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint). Effective time management, prioritization, and project management skills.
