Eaton located in Mississauga, ON has an opening for an Environmental, Health and Safety Manager role. Position Overview: Under the direction of the Canadian Satellite Manager and as a member of the Satellite Leadership team, the incumbent in this position has the responsibility to work closely with stakeholders to drive the Environmental, Health and Safety (EH&S) activities, and deploy strategies that ensures a culture of EH&S compliance and continuous improvement for the Satellite Operations, PQ Carlingview location and the Ontario ACE team. In this function you will: Promote and collaborate with team members to identify new objectives, areas of improvement, activities and guidelines required to effectively drive reduction in environmental, health and safety (EHS) risks and hazards. Ensure safe work practices and compliance with EHS policies and procedures as outlined in Management System for the Environment, Safety, Security and Health (MESH), or that are required to comply with relevant legislation. Disseminate and lead the implementation of applicable MESH requirements, and programs to meet legal/regulatory requirements Drive the continuous improvement of all EH&S related activities by facilitating effective preventative/corrective action. Act as the EH&S Representative for all end/3rd party certifications. Provide ongoing training, at all levels, of EH&S systems, policies, procedures and relevant legislation. Manage the internal audit program for all EH&S systems, and Collect, analyze and publish applicable data. Maintain Environmental Health & Safety policies, practices and metrics. Ensure the integrity of all EH&S documentation. Become actively involved in the planning and installation of new equipment, hazard analysis and solutions to alleviate hazards or potential hazards. Monitors and administers Early and Safe Return to Work Programs for all occupational and non-occupational illnesses/injuries. Travel to satellite operations will be required, after Covid-19 restrictions have been lifted. Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: Post-Secondary Education in a relevant field Minimum 3 years EHS experience in a manufacturing environment No relocation provided. Candidates must reside within 80km of Mississauga to be considered. Must be legally authorized to work in Canada without company sponsorship Approximately 10% travel across various locations with exposure to a wide variety of working environments and working conditions while visiting or working at Eaton manufacturing environments, offices settings and customer sites. Preferred qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) designation 5 years or more years EHS experience in a manufacturing environment Bi-lingual (English and French) Managing multi-site experience remotely ISO-14000, ISO-9001 auditor Position Criteria: Ability to multi-task and work in a fast paced/changing environment. Ability to work individually or as part of a team, leading teams on projects. Strong analytical aptitude and complex problem solving skills. Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills. Ability to facilitate teams/groups across remote geographies and work with all levels of the organization. Intermediate knowledge of MS Office. Knowledge of LEAN manufacturing processes and Six Sigma Tools preferred. Effective time management and project management skills.
