The Challenge
Embark on your 12-month placement with us whilst taking part in our fantastic intern development programme. We will create an individual training plan to help you develop the specific skills and knowledge required for your role. By the end of it, you will be set up with the best knowledge and hands-on experience to equip you for your professional career in EHS. This role will be site independent as you will be visiting various sites in the south such as our depots in: Northam, Euston, Hornsey and Three Bridges therefore you we would like you to be living in the South of the UK if possible.
As an Environmental intern, you will be involved with H&S and Environmental topics and management systems on a one-year internship programme, covering the following key areas:
- Continuous Improvement activities regarding EHS within the business
- Operational EHS support and projects
- EHS Legislation / standards / best practice interpretation into workplace processes
- Familiarisation with operational standards (18001/14001/45001)
- A specialisation / interest in environmental management
- Human Factors and Ergonomics
- Process, procedural analysis and improvements
- Statistical analysis of EHS data
- Culture & Behavioural Awareness
- You will support the existing team in a fully operational role and you will be involved in both project based assignments and cross-functional working.
The candidate
- Studying towards a degree in an Environmental or related subject
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Great organisational, time management and analytical skills
- Excellent negotiation and influencing skills
- Confident with the ability and self-determination to drive your own development through the scheme
- Work experience in an engineering environment would be beneficial but not essential
- Previous management experience will be welcomed

This role will require travel to other sites within the UK so you will need to be flexible in regards to travel.
