YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The primary responsibilities of this role, Environmental Scientist, are to: 

• Initiate and drive scientific data strategies to support global registrations of novel traits in product portfolio;
• Develop methodology and execute experiments in the controlled environment to meet regulatory and stewardship requirements for commercial and seed and trait pipeline products;
• Manage, conduct and support controlled environment-based studies to assess the environmental risk assessment conducted for biotech plants;
• Execute on detailed and specific study process plans;
• Communicate effectively research finding to S&T Safety Center scientist, Regulatory Affairs Seeds and Traits Product managers, Regulatory Leadership and Global Regulatory Affairs managers;
• Be a primary author for scientific reports;
• Lead and prepare external peer reviewed publications to support global data strategy and transparency initiative;
• Initiate, conduct, monitor and coordinate quality check activities;
• Coordinate data analysis, interpret results and write reports;
• Commit to ISO quality processes and Good Laboratory Practices.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science with at least 10 years of relevant experience or Master of Science with at least eight years of relevant experience or Ph.D. in Plant Physiology, Environmental Sciences or related Science with at least four years of relevant experience;
• Has a proven track record of making technical decisions which involve a high degree of planning and coordinating ability so that numerous activities converge successfully;
• Experience, knowledge and reputation as an authority in the company in regulatory data generation for Biotech product submission;
• Demonstration of high levels of value and integrity;
• Instills company visions, values and belief in others by example;
• Demonstration of actively pursuing and managing process optimization, project management and technology;
• Strong will in coaching, counseling, managing and directing personal to changing priorities, sense of urgency and utilization of multiple skill sets.
