Micron’s Taiwan sites include sales and technical support in Taipei along with state-of-the-art fabrication facilities in Taichung and Taoyuan that together comprise the company’s DRAM Center of Perfection. The Center’s goal is to achieve the most efficient and effective technology transfer and manufacturing ramp by combining front- and back-end manufacturing, product engineering and technology development roles.

Job Description

An Equipment Engineer is responsible for monitoring, sustaining, and improving the equipment processes in their assigned area while working in partnership with production team members and area engineers. Equipment Engineer are expected to maintain open communication with production and engineering teams to resolve area issues and implement effective solutions with appropriate critical issues.

Responsibilities and Tasks

Adhere to All Safety procedures

Monitor tool performance, schedule and perform preventative/corrective maintenance on assigned tool sets.

Participate in carrying TPM activity to uphold and improvement the equipment performance and utilization.

Use mechanical, electronic and PC/software skills to solve and repair equipment issues.

Assist with equipment installs; tests; create and modify equipment procedures with the approval from the Equipment Section Manager or Equipment Owners.

Increase tool uptime through systematic problem solving and troubleshooting, quality workmanship.

Encourage to participate in CIP projects focus team to improve the work flow, tools performance, cost of ownership etc.

Document all maintenance performed in established check sheets and tracking programs, and routine review of maintenance check sheets and procedures.

Monitor, analyze and address SPC issues for area processes every day and respond to SPC out of control issues.

Shift Technicians are required to keep the Lead Tech and/or Lead Engineer updated on tool and area issues.

Team members are responsible for their own individual training/certification progress to ensure no overdue learning events.

All team members are required to complete their learning items within the stipulated time frame

For business process and/or QMS component that one is responsible or accountable for:

  • ensuring the QMS/business process that is effective and conforms to requirements
  • ensuring that the processes are delivering their intended outputs
  • reporting on QMS/business process performance and opportunities for improvement to management
  • ensuring the promotion of internal and external customer focus throughout the organization
  • ensuring the maintenance of the integrity of the QMS/ business process when changes are planned and implemented
  • ensuring customer requirements are met

Education

Required

Other or equivalent experience

  • Diploma Level
  • Engineering
  • Related field of study

Experience

Desired

1 year experience in any of the following:

  • Semiconductor experience

Qualifications

  • Basic understanding of semiconductor equipment and processes
  • Basic to intermediate knowledge of AC/DC circuits, including: fundamentals of electricity, and basic electronic components and circuits is helpful
  • Proven ability to solve basic problems and address root causes
  • Basic data extraction, analysis and reporting skills
  • Basic PC skills including MS Office Word, Excel and Power Point
  • Ability to be flexible with job responsibilities and take the initiative to assume added responsibilities
  • Successfully demonstrated collaboration skills with a strong focus on effective team dynamics
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
