PRIMARY FUNCTION: Plan and coordinate the operational activities of Eaton Aguascalientes to guarantee compliance with Mexican and International customs trade law framework. Ensure that all policies and procedures are implemented and well documented, performing occasional internal reviews and identifying compliance problems that call for formal attention. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Ensure integrity of Trade Compliance processes Maintain a strong understanding of customs regulations related to import/export processes and communicate to the plant about relevant changes that have an impact on operations. Monitor all the obligations to maintain certifications such as VAT, OEA and CTPAT Ensure that temporary inventory fulfills with all Mexican Customs regulations Keep open balance within threshold by following standard GTM process on monthly basis Ensure legal stay of fixed asset in the plant or other locations Provide guidance to stakeholders for any activity related to trade compliance, including the proper use of trade agreements Compliance on the reporting management such as IMMEX 24 and 31, PROSEC, DIOT, INEGI, VAT, sub-maquila, etc. Audit import and export transactions, its files and records to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations Support programs and projects to take advantage of Free Trade Agreements and other duty savings opportunities Application of the 8 CIF modules and support related initiatives on daily basis through establishing, maintaining, and complying Standard Work and other tools. Participate in Lean Council and Continuous Improvement teams when required. Generate ideas for improvement according with the local programs. Qualifications SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE: Degree qualification in Foreign Trade or related discipline Minimum 3 years in a manufacturing environment, automotive preferred Thorough knowledge and understanding of Mexican and International customs trade law framework Understanding Risk/Legal issues related to import regulations. Excellent communication and writing skills. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills Negotiation skills Must be proactive and results oriented Working Knowledge of MRP / ERP system, Oracle as a plus Proficiency in Customs Law, Origin Laws, Annex 24, Annex 31, IMMEX requirements, international agreements.
