Purpose : The Communications Specialist is responsible for co-creating and executing our communications strategy in Mexico. This role reports to the Communications and Patient Relations Manager to contribute to the development and execution of internal and external communications programs and initiatives. This role also must work very closely with all other departments within AbbVie, particularly Government Affairs, the Product Brand Teams, Human Resources, and the General Managers (AbbVie and Allergan Aesthetics). Responsibilities : Co-creates and executes the communication strategy of the Affiliate aligned with Corporate and Area strategy. Contributes to the operational results and the short and long business growth through the consolidation of comprehensive communication initiatives that involve both internal and external stakeholders. Upholds AbbVie’s reputation and builds the AbbVie brand image. Helps manage review process for external communications materials (press releases, statements, response documents, fact sheets, guides, etc.). Keeps various parties apprised of status, timelines, and directional shifts to ensure smooth review process and to meet corporate deadlines. Supports and drives employee engagement through powerful organizational communications. Coordinates townhalls and internal events. Specific functions performed include: strategic planning, corporate and therapeutic area communications, media relations, issues/crises management, executive and internal communications, and digital channel management (local web page, intranet and social media). Manages resources/budgets on programming within company financial policies and external policies governing industry practices. Oversees the implementation of tactical program elements and ensures deliverables are on time/on budget. Develops performance reports. Possesses a thorough understanding/awareness of leading/emerging PR and digital marketing tactics and techniques to maximize program impact. Manages agency resources and other vendors to ensure successful completion of projects and assignments within allocated budgets. Qualifications Qualifications : Educational Requirements: Bachelor’s degree within the communications area and a background in PR, Communication, Writing, Journalism, and Marketing/Business strongly preferred. Experience Requirements: 3+ years of relevant work experience focusing on employee communications, public relations, external communication, and reputation management. Fully bilingual English - Spanish. Strong storytelling abilities and solid written and oral communications skills. Solid knowledge on the use of digital tools and media. Experience pitching to and managing communications and PR agencies. Demonstrated ability to produce high quality results under tight deadlines following multiple company policies and procedures. Demonstrated ability to assimilate and operationalize a strategic agenda into execution. Solid teamwork skills and ability to navigate a complex matrix structure.
