European eCommerce Channel Director F/M/X

Localisation : Anywhere in Europe (close to one of our Mars Petcare sites)

Contract : Permanent contract

 

The Online channel is the biggest growth opportunity in the Pet Nutrition Europe. The European E-Commerce Channel Director plays a critical leadership role in the creation, development and execution of the dCom strategy for Europe. The role is accountable for leading the total Regional Ecom Channel. In addition, the role is responsible for Dcom channel strategy, Promotional policy, Pricing, and portfolio programme, as well as managing the Dcom Shopper Marketing & Category Management teams. The role must ensure full support for the Dcom Channel strategy from key stakeholders across all functions at regional and local levels and an important part of the role is communicating the requirements to win in this significant growth channel.

 

What would be your responsibilities ?

 

  • Develop a sustainable business strategy and long term partnership (3-5 year) with key regional customers (Zooplus & Amazon, plus others as appropriate) with full P&L responsibility for OP delivery
  • Grow NSV and market share in regional Dcom channel, whilst establishing and maintaining an influential relationship at senior levels within customer base.
  • Lead the CRM, Category & Customer Marketing Ecomm Channel teams, developing and implementing specific policy, activity and insights for this channel, whilst working with broader Demand and Supply Teams to ensure correct capability and content is available
  • Communicate Channel strategy and influence key stakeholders at regional level to ensure portfolio, marketing/comms, supply functions support Dcom strategy and customer requirements within BP markets and beyond (MS)
  • Identify new routes to market and implement operations to tackle these new opportunities. Marketplace being a key priority.
  • Take a key role in building new strategic and premium brands (e.g. Nutro, Greenies, Crave) for the future leveraging dCom channel
  • Cooperate with UK & regional teams to expand JWB in dCom and step change brand performance throughout OGSM timeframe
  • Ensure Governance of activities & target achievement by introduce effective tracking & performance measurement systems
  • Lead contribution to Global Ecommerce community and share best practices with other regions.

 

  • More specifically to the European dCom team:
  • Build, lead, engage and develop a high-performing European Online Sales, Category, SRM and Customer Marketing team of 17 people, to deliver the Annual Operating Plan for Ecommerce, profitable growth and market share online
  • Team will include 4 direct reports: European KAM Z+, European Amazon Director, SRM manager, Category & Customer Marketing manager, 13 Indirect reports
  • Define an inspiring channel plan with a holistic go-to market strategy for the next years in line with the OGSM, and specific customer plans

 

 

What are we looking for ? 

  • University Degree in a business related discipline
  • Minimum 10 years of professional experience with B-2-C in Demand roles (e.g. Key Account Management, Sales Director, etc.)
  • Proven track record of building strategies & delivering results with a leading eretailer (international key account experience is an advantage)  
  • Strong e-commerce experience is a must
  • Proven negotiation skills with results
  • Proven leadership skills and experience of leading, engaging, and developing diverse teams
  • Very strong strategic agility and capacity to manage complexity (moving environment)
  • Strong commercial acumen: demonstrate delivery of ROI and compelling category vision
  • Excellent ability to influence others, encourage teamwork, and build strong internal and external relationships.
  • Strong knowledge of Amazon, Zooplus and interaction with C&M Generalists is clearly an advantage
  • Fluency in English is mandatory, German, French and Polish will be appreciated
