Event Sales and Service Manager
Sofitel New York is seeking a creative, proactive go-getter salesperson to promote and sell meeting and event services of our luxury four-star hotel to maximize banquet revenue and provide outstanding service through phone solicitation, in-person meetings, participation at trade shows and other sales actions. You will serve as the hotel representative to prospective clients and strategic partners who utilize meeting space, food & beverage service, and in-house audio visual.

What you will be doing:
As the Event Sales and Service Manager, you will maintain a high level of professionalism in appearance and manner at all times.
Work with Director of Sales and Marketing and other team members, to ensure adequate coverage of the Sales and Catering Department, field unsolicited leads as assigned, and coordinate all details of bookings and work to achieve monthly and annual goals. Effectively manage relationships with clients and key partners to ensure all information/history in Delphi is current and accurate and goals are achieved. Assist Director of Sales and Marketing with development of annual budget and marketing plan.
Qualify, respond and service business opportunities in a timely, professional manner, and develop new opportunities by researching prospects utilizing sales tools such as Delphi, reader board services, Cvent, Wedding Sources and others. Plan and conduct creative site visits, proposals, and sales plans to meet or exceed established revenue and room night goals.
Work with various departments to ensure requested services are provided to customers. Work with counterparts to effectively manage all aspects of the business. Active community outreach and industry involvement required.
Your experience and skills include:
- Ability to conduct professional verbal and written presentations to both large and small groups and uncover relevant target accounts and cultivate new business essential to the success of this position.
- Ability to effectively present data be decisive and meet deadlines as required. exceptional negotiation, organizational and analytical skills needed for internal and external client and vendor communication. Proven ability to develop, plan, and implement short- and long-range goals.
- Full command of English language, both written and verbal, required.
- Advanced knowledge of Delphi/Salesforce, Social Tables and Microsoft Office required.
- Skilled in Opera, Cvent, and other related platforms highly desirable.
- Written and verbal ability to communicate in French a plus.
- Minimum two years in catering and/or event sales and service in luxury hotel, ideally from high volume market/destination.
- Ability to demonstrate high level of creativity and solution-oriented mindset a must.
- The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining work authorization documents.
- Visa Requirements: Must be legally eligible to work in the United States.
- Candidates will be required to show proof of being vaccinated against COVID-19 upon commencing employment per New York City Guidelines.
