Job Description

(a) a bachelor degree from a Hong Kong university, or equivalent;
(b) met the language proficiency requirements of Level 3 or above in Chinese Language and English Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE) or in the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE) (See Note), or equivalent;
(c) good communication (both written and spoken) and interpersonal skills; and
(d) advanced knowledge of computer software applications including MS Word, Excel and Adobe Acrobat, and use of computer in database management.

Note:
Note: For appointment purpose, “Grade C” and “Grade E” in Chinese Language and English Language (Syllabus B) in the HKCEE before 2007 are accepted administratively as comparable to “Level 3” and “Level 2” respectively in Chinese Language and English Language in the 2007 HKCEE and thereafter.

Duties:
(1) To assist in general administration matters including coordinating publicity work, records and data management and logistics arrangement etc.;
(2) To assist in conducting researches and data analysis;
(3) To assist in handling procurement of services and supplies;
(4) To monitor and handle general accounting matters;
(5) To provide other miscellaneous administrative support; and
(6) To perform field work and work overtime as necessary.

Terms of Appointment:
Successful candidates will be appointed on non-civil service contract terms for a period of 12 months.

Fringe Benefits
An end-of-contract gratuity may be granted upon satisfactory completion of the contract with consistently high standard of performance and conduct. Such gratuity will be the sum which, when added to the Government’s contribution to the MPF scheme, equals to 10% of the total basic salary drawn during the contract period. 12 days annual leave, rest days, statutory holidays (or substituted holidays), maternity leave, paternity leave, sickness allowance, where appropriate, will be granted in line with the provisions of the Employment Ordinance.

General Notes:
(a) Candidates must be permanent residents of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region at the time of appointment unless specified otherwise.

(f) It is Government policy to place people with a disability in appropriate jobs wherever possible. If a disabled candidate meets the entry requirements, he/she will be invited to attend the selection interview/written examination without being subject to any further shortlisting criteria.
(g) Holders of academic qualifications other than those obtained from Hong Kong institutions/Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority may also apply but their qualifications will be subject to assessments on equivalence with the required entry qualifications. The form can also be downloaded from the Civil Services Bureau’s website (http://www.csb.gov.hk). Completed application form, a resume briefly describing the applicant’s previous working experience and related documents should reach the address below on or before the closing date. Please state on the envelope “Application for the post of Executive Assistant”. Applications not made in the prescribed form or which are incomplete or late will not be considered. Please ensure that sufficient postage is paid to avoid unsuccessful delivery of application. Any underpaid mail items will be disposed of by the Hongkong Post. Suitable applicants will be invited for interview within about six weeks from the closing date for application. Those who are not invited for interview may assume that their applications are unsuccessful.
