Job Description

1. Assist in day-to-day operations for the provision of procurement and materials management services to the Hospitals.

2. Perform procurement functions including product sourcing, price research, purchase requisition, tender administration and commitment monitoring.

3. Review and analyze procurement/ consumption history for formulation of procurement plan and creation of bulk contracts.

4. Assist in the preparation of tender documents and routine correspondence.

5. Liaise with relevant stakeholders in the supply chain to ensure the right goods and services are delivered efficiently.

6. Discharge materials / store management functions and asset management duties.

7. Assist in collecting and analyzing data for management report.

8. Support general administration such as filing and record keeping.

9. Perform any other duties as assigned by supervisors.


Entry Requirements :

1. University Graduates; OR

2. Has obtained a Diploma in a specialized function, and has completed F.5/ S.5 with:

(a) 5 subjects passed in HKCEE including English Language (Syllabus B) and Chinese Language, or equivalent; OR

(b) 5 subjects in HKDSE attaining the level specified below:

(i) Level 2 in English Language and Chinese Language, and

(ii) Level 2 in New Senior Secondary subjects/ "Attained" in Applied Learning subjects (subject to a maximum of 2 subjects under this category)/ Grade E in Other Language subjects, or equivalent.


Preferred Attributes / Exposure :

1. Experience in procurement, merchandising and logistics management, or possession of relevant qualifications.

2. Responsible, self-motivated, outgoing and able to work independently with good telephone manner and interpersonal skills.

3. Proficiency in PC applications, such as MS Access, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Chinese word processing.

4. Experience in managing a high volume of data.

5. Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese.

6. Be committed and willing to work overtime for project deadlines.


Remarks :

For Serving HA Staff

1. Serving staff who have completed F.5 / S.5 or equivalent and have 2 years' relevant experience within HA may also be considered.

2. The selected candidate will be offered either contract or fixed term appointment for up to 3 years depending on his/her existing employment terms. The offer of salary for serving employees upon changes in appointment will be determined based on the remuneration package/employment terms of the staff concerned and prevailing policies.

For External Applicants

3. Candidate appointed on contract terms will be offered a contract for up to 3 years. 5% of total basic salary as end-of-contract gratuity may be offered upon completion of contract with satisfactory performance.

4. Retiring / retired HA staff who wish to continue working for HA after their normal retirement may also apply. If selected, the terms and conditions of employment will be offered in accordance with prevailing policies of the Retired and Rehire Mechanism of HA.

5. Selected candidate may be required to perform shift duty and wear uniform.

6. Selected candidate may be required to work in another work location to meet service needs of the HA.

7. Renewal of contract will depend on funding, operational needs and appointee's performance.
