Department of Economics
The Department of Economics is seeking a self-motivated and responsible individual with excellent interpersonal skills to fill the position of Executive Assistant.
The appointee is expected to carry out the following duties for the Master degree programmes and the Department:
(a) providing administrative and secretarial support to the Programme Office as well as the Departmental and other curriculum-related duties;
(b) maintaining programme/course databases and websites, and manage financial matters;
(c) liasing with internal and external parties, including overseas parties, part-time staff, firms or companies, programme guests;
(d) preparing meeting agenda and minutes, and statistics with analysis (if any);
(e) involving in programme promotion related activities, including occasional overseas travel or local travel for admission and promotion functions; and
(f) performing other relevant administrative tasks as assigned by the Programme Director and the Department Head.
Applicant should:
(i) possess a Bachelor’s degree with at least one year of work experience; relevant experience is an advantage;
(ii) possess strong communication skills and be able to work independently;
(iii) be self-motivated in performing tasks with detailed and analytical mind; and
(iv) have good knowledge in computer applications and very good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (Putonghua and Cantonese).
Shortlisted candidates would be invited to attend written test and computer application test.
The appointment will commence as early as September 2019 on a fixed term of one year. Re-appointment thereafter will be subject to mutual agreement and availability of funding.
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
