Job Description

JOB SUMMARY

Geometry Global China is looking for a proven Executive Creative Director to lead both our creative team and creative output.

Our Creative Workstreams

  • Developing International clients,

We have a major portfolio of FMCG、Technology and Sports Brands clients. We are looking to drive new relationships and new work into these existing clients


  • Major China clients

We work closely with Huawei and Oppo in China and are looking to maintain a strong creative output on these clients as we grow them in 2019


  • China Retail Clients

We are heavily involved with Retail Activation, Experiential, Instore and Roadshow development plus Instore 3D planogram and shelving soloutions. This is not only for our Consumer clients but also for our specific retail clients – Walmart, Sam’s Club Yonghui and Sughou Tesco. These are tight deadlines and quick turnarounds and we have a specific team supporting this area


  • Beyond Communication – Innovation and Technology – we are driving significant innovation into our clients – whether this is via New Retail (Mars), Live Data sourcing (DiDi), New Retail concept (Alibaba). We believe that this area would benefit from the overview of the ECD – to drive a new way forward for retail and to capture the creativity of innovation in our organsiation


The candidate must be a conceptual creative with gravitas and experience in leading both the client and teams to better results. He/she must be a partner to the CEO,COO, - as well aligning with senior players from Account Handling and Creative.


KEY COMPETENCIES/BEHAVIOURS


  • A conceptual creative with gravitas, finesse and proven leadership ability.
  • A master story teller of the work; able to bring clients, the agency and team on the journey.
  • Must have relevant activation experience – retail & shopper, branding, digital, consumer engagement platforms, events and trade.
  • Has a creative book that showcases projects that are ‘of the moment’ – culturally and technologically.
  • Must show evidence of having successfully mentored team members, setting the creative standard.
  • Has ability to command the room, and a strong presenter both internally and with clients.
  • Experience in the FMCG/Technology sector would be beneficial.
  • Must have mandarin language capability and ideally experience working in China.


ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS (internal selection criteria)


LANGUAGE SKILLS

  • Fluent English (oral and written) for internal/network communication and client presentations

Ideally both, but minimum one of the below oral fluency

  • Mandarin: for Huawei/Honor client meetings and presentations


PERSONNALITY

Outgoing personality to engage with clients and prospects

Gravitas to be heard/listened to

Listening skills vs client/prospect challenges and expectations

Entrepreneurial – the ability to drive transformation programmes into our existing clients business


EXPERIENCE

Strong Asian market expertise (minimum 10 years in Asia), with a focus on China and/or HK

CORE NEW BUSINESS WORK FOCUS

Digital and consumer engagement platforms


LEADERSHIP

Aiming for creative excellence and natural strength in storytelling (concept, crafting and oral presentations)

Role model and inspiring respect from the teams (creatives and beyond)

Good working chemistry with CEO and COO


MANAGEMENT

Natural authority and seasoned manager to managing a team of senior creatives from very different cultures (HK, south America, Malaysia, china, US, ….)

Hands-on to show the way/take by the hand to coach the teams, not just dictate the way forward

Organisational skills vs client work and network/regional creative requirements
