What you will be doing:
- Responsible for NCA hotels Regional Audits. Perform Regional Audit as per the annual audit schedule, follow up on audit results and perform quarterly audit training.
- Review financial performance, analysis of variances, forecasts, and budgets of hotels.
- Challenge existing strategies and/or recommend alternate strategies to improve performance
- Oversight of the Eastern Region Hotel Directors of Finance and Business Support (DOF) with the development and implementation of “corrective action plans” on internal and or external audit and operational reports.
- Promote, drive, and maximize the GOP Theoretical Flow Through concept across hotels in the region
- Responsible for the analysis and interpretation of financial data
- Seek, identify and implement throughout the Hotels in the Region, best practices that will serve to enhance revenues, guest service, and improve cost and productivity efficiencies.
- Oversee and lead the preparation of the annual budget, capital budgets, and the rolling forecasts, in conjunction with the Regional Vice President (RVP), Regional Director of Finance & Business Support (RDOF), Hotel Director of Finance & Business Support (DOF), and the Hotel General Managers
- Recommend and engage with Operations in the design, implementation, and use of methods and procedures that improve the accuracy of working schedules in the region, labor standards, forecasts, plans to assist operational staff in the Hotels
- Provide accurate and complete financial and management reports on a timely basis to regional management with-in the region and the regional office, in accordance with the company and ownership reporting requirements and policy
- Work with the RDOF and DOFs to ensure that cashflow is well managed to provide adequate working capital and liaise with owners to ensure they are meeting their requirements
- Oversee all facets of the Hotel property capital process.
- Ensure compliance with all laws and fiscal regulations in the hotel area locations, which affect financial matters of the property
- Accountable for the development, documentation, and maintenance of control systems, within the Hotels, to ensure compliance.
- Support Development in reviewing proposals for new build projects or conversions and work with the Openings and Transition team and RDOFs in implementing Finance systems and processes on new hotels.
- Operate efficiently and optimize staffing levels at the hotels; Plan for future staffing needs (Succession Planning). Focus on succession planning of DOFs and Assistant DOFs across the hotels.
- Recruit in line with company guidelines and partner with Regional Finance and GMs to recruit hotel Finance leaders, as needed
- Key point of contact for asset managers/owners for the NY properties.
- Coordinate and support the hotel and regional teams in managing the requirements from asset managers/owners/Brand in a timely manner.
- Attend regular meetings with asset manager and owners – including monthly/quarterly business reviews and budgets.
- Participate in property operating budget preparation and approval process.
- Complete inspections as part of monitoring property performance, management execution and property capital needs.
- Produce reports on assigned portfolio monthly, quarterly.
- Participate and carry out a monthly review of operating statements.
- Assist in conducting due diligence and financial modeling accordingly.
- Perform financial analysis, market studies and industry standard reporting.
- Implementation, negotiation, and monitoring of programs
- Boost asset and revenue values through identified savings and efficiencies.
- Create reports and perform analysis to identify potential loan delinquencies and revenue losses.
- Ensure current policies are reviewed and updated.
- Implement training and development programs as needed.
- Provide recommendations and implement changes for property improvements based on thorough analysis and experience.
- Analyze property financials and performance metrics in pursuit of maximizing revenue and minimizing expenses.
- Problem solves property and portfolio level issues through research, analysis, and Implementation.
- Assist in the development and monitoring of strategies to maximize asset values within the portfolio.
- Recommend goals and objectives for each property as required
- Handle special projects as instructed
Your experience and skills include:
- Accounting Designation, Bachelor's or master’s degree in Hotel Management, Business, Finance, or a relevant field of work, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience. CPA or MBA preferred
- 5 to 7 years of work experience as a Regional or Corporate Director of Finance is essential
- Previous experience managing multiple hotels or business units as well as experience and track record in business partnering with operators
- Spanish or French considered an asset
- International experience considered an asset.
- Ability to travel is required to provide the oversight within the region
Your team and working environment:
- Reporting to the Vice President, Hotel Finance & Business Support, this position will be home-office based in the United States.
