Executive Housekeeper

Job Description

Primary Responsibilities 

•    Responsible for the overall day-to-day management of the Housekeeping department.
•    To direct and control the housekeeping operations and staff of the Housekeeping department.
•    Oversee & direct all aspects of all Housekeeping activities in order to ensure the standards of hygiene and cleanliness are maintained.
•    To assign duties, inspect work, and investigate complaints regarding Housekeeping service and equipment and hence take corrective action.
•    Responsible for the overall appearance of the rooms, public areas, lobbies etc.
•    Establish standards and procedures for the work of housekeeping team and plan work schedules to ensure adequate and efficient service.
    
Operational Management

•    Conduct follow-up to ensure that high standards of quality are maintained and that all procedures are adhered to.
•    Ensure to conduct rooms inspections regularly.
•    Coordinate operations with area coordinators, supervisors and other departmental managers to ensure operational readiness, efficiency in resource utilization, and the prompt delivery of services.
•    Ensure that preventative maintenance of furniture, carpeting, equipment and supplies is an on-going process.
•    Ensure that the highest standards of cleanliness, maintenance and safety are practiced in the Housekeeping department and in all other areas of the hotel.
•    To plan and organize the operations to effectively achieve and maintain the established standards of cleanliness in guests’ room interiors, guest room, corridors public areas, back of the house areas, linen and uniforms.
•    Inspect guests and public areas on a regular basis to ensure that the furnishings, facilities and equipment’s are clean and in a good condition.
•    Ensure to maintain appropriate grooming standards in hygiene, uniforms, appearance, posture and conduct of the Housekeeping personnel.
•    Help in reducing, reusing and recycling items and stress on use of Eco-friendly items in the hotel.
•    To supervise and control the cleaning and servicing of all bedrooms, restaurants, function and public rooms in the hotel.

Knowledge and Experience

•    Secondary / High school education
•    Additional certification(s) from a reputable Hospitality Management school will be an advantage
•    Minimum 6 years of Housekeeping experience with 3 years at a management level
•    Excellent reading, writing and oral proficiency in English language
•    Ability to speak other languages and basic understanding of local languages will be an advantage
•    Good working knowledge of MS Excel, Word, & PowerPoint
•    High degree of professionalism with sound human resources management and business acumen capabilities
