POSITION SUMMARY:
Deliver on the project and operating targets for the housekeeping and EVS departments. Deliverables include service quality, on budget performance and participating in the growth of the business. As the Housekeeping & EVS department, relationships management with our key departments is a critical component of this role.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Interviews and makes decisions for employment of the key positions in Housekeeping.
  • Coordinates closely with the supporting departments to ensure the delivery of guest services.
  • Consults with top management for assets replacement or renovation required by listing out in priority order and the budget required.

  • Plans and prepares the annual capital budget, operating expenditure budget and manpower budget for Housekeeping Department.
  • Review and update Departmental Performance Plan on a regular basis
  • Ensure through effective supervision that all services offered in the housekeeping department are always available and are carried out with the outmost efficiency and courtesy as per the department operations manual
  • Liaise with laundry and technical services departments to ensure the smooth flow of linen supplies and repair work
  • Liaise with the Front Office on anticipated Guest check-ins, checkouts, room assignments and rooming list
  • Conduct periodic inspections of all hotel areas to check the cleaning standards.
  • Ensures the proper ordering of cleaning supplies and guest supplies and to check that they are handled and stored correctly
  • Evaluate the market trends, identify the business needs and take action to maximize profits for the company. Keep management abreast of all recommendations
  • Conduct regular housekeeping meetings to keep Colleagues informed of policies and procedures, special events, further improvement plans and guest comments
  • Use the Guest history system to its fullest potential
  • Ensure that the department’s operational budget is in line and costs are strictly controlled
  • Update SOPs when needed
  • Liaise with the Food and Beverage and Events center outlet managers for any special requirements
  • Coordinate closely with external parties such as utility companies, public health authorities, MGTO and local charitable organizations to establish and cultivate good working relationships
  • Perform other duties and task as required for smooth operation of departments

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Minimum of 7-10 years Housekeeping & EVS experience
  • Excellent communication skills in English, Cantonese and Mandarin
  • Diploma in Hotel management an asset
  • Must be strong team player with proven leadership, development and delegation skills
  • Knowledge of Opera, Optii, Word, Excel, and Windows XP
  • Highly organized, career and result oriented with the ability to be flexible with hours, days off, assignment and additional duties
  • Must be able to work well under pressure in a fast paced and constantly changing environment
