BNY Mellon ranks as the 7th largest global asset manager. About This Opportunity BNY Mellon provides $74.8 billion in credit exposure to support the important relationships of the Institutional Bank. We have recently committed to a strategic initiative to establish a more robust first line function to further broaden client engagement, improve the customer experience, strengthen risk management, and maximize deployment of the balance sheet. BNY Mellon is excited to create a new Institutional Lending Group and we are recruiting client-focused professionals with risk analysis or commercial banking experience to help us execute on this strategy. Leads an Institutional Lending area consisting of multiple teams. Leads the lending activities and resources for the Institutional Lending area. Sets departmental priorities and allocates resources to align with business objectives and annual plan. Leads key initiatives for department. Develops and applies tactics to ensure staff achieve department goals and objectives and maintain high credit quality and standards of client satisfaction. Maintains familiarity with industry best practices and seeks opportunities to implement as appropriate. Manages the performance of assigned staff, coaches, and guides on project management. Participates in long-term or strategic planning for the Institutional Lending function designed to improve the overall client experience and improve team productivity and quality. Ensures that clients are satisfied and that lenders are effectively executing the established strategy for each client. Serves as an escalation point for highly complex and/or significant relationships if necessary. Serves as the subject-matter expert for staff on the full range of Company products/services. Identifies opportunities to improve credit profile or broaden existing relationships. Maintains relationships with senior business and sales leaders across the Bank to ensure common client goals and report trends and needs; may provide forward-looking and strategic insight on client credit profiles/industry issues to assist with future revenue growth. Recruits, directs, motivates, and develops staff, maximizing their individual contribution, their professional growth, and their ability to function effectively with their colleagues as a team. Provides feedback at the most critical times. Manages an area of Lending professionals, consisting of multiple teams, including coaching, performance management and resource allocation. Develops and oversees the achievement of teams' objectives. Responsible for the financial resources of the area, ensuring adherence to budget and management of expenses. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in finance or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required. MBA is preferred. 15+ years of total work experience and 5-7 years of management experience preferred; experience in risk analysis or commercial banking preferred.
