RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

The Firmwide Strategy Groups is looking to create a global presence in London and Hong Kong, in addition to New York. Accordingly, the individual will be a junior regional ambassador across our three initiatives (i) Strategy and M&A, (ii) GS Accelerate and (iii) Launch With GS.

The individual will support strategic M&A through all phases of the deal lifecycle, create, evaluate, review, and implement new business plans and initiatives, and develop strategic and financial models and analyses. Our projects provide exposure to the breadth of activities at a major international financial firm with multiple business lines, including its opportunities and challenges, and frequent interaction with senior divisional and firm leadership. The role provides an opportunity to gain the operational perspective of a principal while also serving as a trusted strategic and financial advisor to key internal clients. It will also be essential for the candidate to be our key representative of Launch With GS and GS Accelerate in the region. For Launch With GS, we anticipate the individual being a regional ambassador responsible for leading client meetings and events as well as the associated follow ups. For GS Accelerate, it will be critical to assist in the selection and development of portfolio investments.

The Firmwide Strategy group has proven to be a gateway to a number of attractive career paths. Past team members have been promoted to leadership positions within the group as well as transitioned to investing and management positions inside Goldman Sachs and elsewhere, corporate strategy roles within various industries, and back to traditional investment banking.

• No less than 1-3 years prior investment banking experience, with a strong preference for FIG expertise
• Strong knowledge of the financial services industry, FinTech and Venture Community
• Ability to review and synthesize information and form independent judgments
• Strong analytical, quantitative, and technical abilities, including M&A modeling experience
• Drive and enthusiasm to modulate between supporting all three of Firmwide strategy’s priorities
• Strong written and oral communication skills, in English and Mandarin, with confidence and ability to interact effectively with senior leaders
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet competing deadlines
