OFFICE OF THE VICE-PRESIDENT (RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT)
HKBU has set out a ten-year Institutional Strategic Plan (ISP) to position the University as a research-led liberal arts institution of global significance, one that is firmly anchored to the needs of the local communities around us, the rapid development of the nation, and the global landscape beyond.
Committed to driving excellent research of global significance, Hong Kong Baptist University has established three Interdisciplinary Research Clusters in its areas of strength for focused development. The University is looking for an experienced and dedicated Executive Officer to support a rigorous agenda for research development.
Reporting to the Associate Vice-President (Research), the appointee will provide administrative leadership in the following areas:
- capture research strength to maximise knowledge outputs and impact;
- facilitate research collaborations with strategic partners around the world;
- facilitate connections between HKBU researchers and external stakeholders;
- organise symposiums and activities for research;
- coordinate various publicity and marketing campaigns;
- develop and coordinate efforts in research brand development through various media platforms including the research websites; and
- other duties as assigned.
Applicants should possess:
- a recognised degree, preferably in Marketing, Communication Studies, Language Studies or a related discipline;
- at least five years of relevant experience, prior exposure in higher education sector would be an advantage;
- an excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua);
- strong communication and organisational skills;
- ability to work under tight timelines;
- proactiveness, maturity, meticulousness, readiness to accept challenges, capability in multi-tasking and independence at work;
- self-motivation and team spirit; and
- proficiency in computer skills.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a written test.
Initial appointment will be offered on a fixed-term contract of two years. Re-appointment thereafter will be subject to performance review and mutual agreement.
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
