Job Description

We are looking for a passionate Executive Producer to join our Experience team in Shanghai.  

As the Executive Producer, you will work with a multidisciplinary group to define and manage experiential and interactive projects that span across marketing and non-marketing sectors, working directly with brands and agencies. You will bring an experienced knowledge base of digital production and agile development across experiential and interactive, as well as a mature outlook on working with internal teams, external vendors and clients.  

You will have an excellent understanding of The Mill's strategic goals and be instrumental in delivering increased sales and in encouraging greater bottom-line profit. The EP role is primarily an outwardly orientated, client facing role, requiring excellent communication skills and the fostering and development of extremely strong client relationships. 

As well as working with the Creative Technology teams across the Mill Experience group, you will partner with stakeholders across VFX, Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Legal.  

Responsibilities:

 

  • Liaise closely with the HOPs and the EPs in all offices to ensure good communication regarding sales and the successful hand over of jobs between The Mill offices.
  • Provide support to the Experience production department and ensure excellent communication and the careful handover of projects from the bidding stage to the line production stage of a project.
  • Monitor the satisfaction of existing clients and ensure that they continue to work with The Mill.
  • Maximise revenue and utilisation of The Mill Experience by having an overview of the work going through each site and encouraging effective scheduling and efficiency of resources.
  • Develop and maintain an 'ear' to the market and disseminate relevant information to the production team and key staff at The Mill.
  • Work closely with our reps to help define potential clients, sales/marketing opportunities and PR exercises both on a short term and a long term 'bigger picture' basis.           
  • Ensure the most effective use of resources and drive the highest end creative work with effective production and delivery of projects to budget and time.

Other responsibilities

  • To oversee quotations and sales pitches with clients as necessary with more junior members of production.
  • To ensure that quality standards and good working practices are met on all projects undertaken by the department.
  • To develop, train, motivate and support all people in the department as required.
  • In tandem with the HOP, be responsible for induction of all fulltime and freelance staff and take an overview on the use of freelance artists and producers.
  • Monitor, and take steps to care for, creative operators’ welfare while also providing balanced protection for our clients and upholding the level of service/work they should expect from The Mill.
  • On a regular basis, meet with heads of other Mill departments to share and promote progressive production practices.
  • Have your finger on the pulse of emerging technologies and assess their relevance to The Mill’s services and interests and understand what best in class solutions exist. 

Key Performance indicators

  • Revenue figures are on target or exceeded.
  • Effective resources utilised to full potential.
  • Effective spread of creative production influence through the company and successful mentoring and nurturing of other members of production.
  • Client relationships solidified and developed throughout the Mill.
  • Client welfare/level of service well managed in tandem with exceeding client expectations and creative goals.
  • Ensure that there is healthy communication between production and other departments within the company to aid overall communication and to better working relationships, especially with the operators and artists that work directly with the production staff.
  • Segmenting the Agency and Production company market and delegating and managing key responsibilities among Production/EP/CD team.
  • Analyzing key client trends with data from BB and DM and developing an effective plan to enhance all macro relationships – with the help of Marketing.
  • Working with our Sales Rep to spot opportunities and develop with the right people (EPs/CDs/MD etc).

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 7 years+ experience working in a Sr. Producer capacity or higher level.
  • Strong analytical and technical ability with design-thinking experience, i.e. UX/UI. 
  • Strong understanding of technology and able to speak to developers.
  • Working knowledge of the Post Production process, advertising industry and game development. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills across all levels. 
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Math, Communications, Marketing, Statistics or Advertising a plus. 
  • Being multilingual will be a plus due to the nature of our global teams and client base. 
  • Attention to detail and a willingness to go the extra mile.
