(a)

To carry out professional curatorial work in terms of initiating, developing, planning, promoting and delivering projects and activities related to design, art, performance, culture and education, including but not limited to exhibitions and design education programmes, within the cultural cluster and gallery at HKDI and IVE (Lee Wai Lee) and promote students’ excellency;

(b)

To provide curatorial and administrative leadership and to initiate research-based activities for exhibitions;

(c)

To provide art direction of the exhibition image, installation and set-up; and

(d)

To establish and develop relations with external stakeholders and to strategize, plan and implement promotion and marketing activities for exhibitions.

(a)

A recognized degree in a relevant discipline or a relevant professional qualification, preferably with a post-graduate qualification;

(b)

At least 5 years’ relevant experience at an appropriate level of responsibility, preferably in curating exhibition in local and international levels;

(c)

Good understanding of the art and design industries with experience of curating exhibition in Hong Kong;

(d)

Good relationship with the stakeholders in culture, arts and design fields;

(e)

Strong administrative, interpersonal, communication and team-building skills;

(f)

Self-motivated with the ability to motivate cross-functional teams and be a good team player;

(g)

Good aesthetic sense; and

(h)

Good presentation skills and a high level of proficiency in both English and Chinese, preferably including Putonghua.

Shortlisted candidates will be required to take a written assessment in English and make a presentation of his/her portfolio at the interview.

The appointees may be required to perform duties outside normal working hours and/or outside campus.
