Job Description

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

The primary responsibilities of this role, Exposure Scientist, are to: 

 

  • Conduct environmental fate field studies including water monitoring, soil dissipation/leaching, spray drift/volatility, and contribute to the writing of study reports;
  • Monitor and interpret environmental fate studies for Bayer Crop Science (BCS)  products in accordance with EPA, PMRA and OECD guidelines, and ensure data quality;
  • Present/defend study results to internal (project/product teams) and external customers (regulatory agencies, conferences);
  • Serve as an associate member of Project or Asset Teams by contributing environmental fate results for strategic decision making (work with a mentor in serving this role);
  • Keep current with emerging issues, science and technical advances in environmental fate and exposure assessment;
  • Actively seek ways to bring innovation to environmental studies and risk assessments.

Required Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor of Science degree with at least five years of experience  in Chemistry, Biology, Environmental/Soil Science, or related field OR Master of Science degree with at least two years of experience  in Chemistry, Biology, Environmental/Soil Science, or related field OR Ph.D. with experience in Chemistry, Biology, Environmental/Soil Science, or related field;
  • Be able to conduct complex scientific projects, and can prioritize tasks in a frequently changing environment;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills;
  • Establish effective networks within an external technical community;
  • Demonstrate ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-based environment leading to constructive interactions.
