Summary

  • Help execute external communications across platforms, including for Baxter.com, on Baxter’s social media channels, and with trade media.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Digital Storytelling: Develop and implement communications programs for our social media channels and baxter.com to drive external awareness and to enhance Baxter’s corporate reputation. Identify, write and produce stories that feature employees, clinicians and patients to demonstrate our leadership and help advance business priorities.
  • Content Posting, Monitoring and Measurement: Post, monitor and measure content across channels. Organize content for weekly social media content calendar. Work with agency partners to collect social data and identify trends for future content development. Help track awards and rankings, and create content to promote these recognitions, as appropriate.
  • Support Corporate Communications Priorities: Work with communications leads to advance general thought leadership efforts and our Global Community Relations, Talent and Inclusion & Diversity goals.
  • Communications Support for Americas Region: Work with Americas communications team to develop communications for the Americas Region president and leadership team. Create content for use on the intranet, internal social channels and an internal email newsletter. Assist with developing content calendar for social media presence of Americas Region president.
  • Writing/Editing: Write consistently in an influential, moving and memorable style, aligned to Baxter’s core narrative. Edit for style, consistency and fluidity across all communications channels.
  • Media Relations and Issues Management Support: Support media relations and issues management activities, including answering the media hotline, and monitoring traditional and social media for key topics and issues.


Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of professional experience in public relations, preferably in a corporate or PR agency environment. Must have public relations experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree required in marketing, strategic communications, journalism, public relations or advertising, English/liberal arts, or transferrable area.  
  • Proven track record on working with different teams to meet deadlines.  
  • Experience in digital and social media content development a plus.
  • Excellent writer with writing ability across different channels and types of communications including social media copy, news releases, FAQ’s, fact sheets, etc. that are clear, concise and persuasive.
  • Strong project management skills with ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Demonstrated “nose for news” to be able to brainstorm/identify compelling stories for external promotion that advance Baxter’s external reputation.
  • Excellent time management, organizational and prioritization skills. 
  • Team player who is willing to work on a variety of projects.
