External Foundry IP Engineer

Job Description

External Foundry Engineer role is part of the Foundry Technology and Engineering team. This team works for 3rd Party Foundry, Assembly and Test supply chain on technology sourcing, enablement, and new product introductions. The job role includes the following responsibilities:

  • Review foundry roadmap, customer and market driven requirements and perform IP competitive analysis

  • Technical analysis of IPs for multi-foundry compatibility

  • Technical analysis of external foundry advanced process and packaging specifications to meet IP and project requirements

  • Determines creative system and IP level design approaches and investigate future pathfinding techniques

  • Works with device engineers and process development engineers to co-optimize external foundry process to achieve best designs

  • Demonstrate skills to translate transistor level data to design performance.

  • Coordinate EDA tool customization to support advanced external foundry process pathfinding


Qualifications

Minimum qualifications are required to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Candidate must possess degree in Electrical Engineering or related field of study with 8+ years of experience in the field of analog circuit design.

  • This position is not eligible for Intel immigration sponsorship.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • The ideal candidate have 10 years of IP development and/or supplier management experience.

  • Candidate should be experienced with analog mixed signal IP, foundational IP, digital IP, cores, and other SoC ingredients. The ideal candidate should also have experience with IP design, planning for soft IP, hard IPs, fabrics and general design of IPs and IP interoperability.

  • Ability to understand IP technical requirements and market needs with knowledge of IP and SoC design cycle for various disciplines

  • Sound communication and presentation skills. Able to summarize data in graphical forms.

  • Have worked with or ability to understand tool flows and technical requirements for development EDA tools
