Job Description

As the Process Equipment Engineering (PEE) Director in Micron, you are accountable for establishing and continuously improving the performance of the critical metrics to achieve Best-In-Class performance. This includes overseeing activities related to new technology start-up, transfer and the technical support in collaboration with other departments and partners to achieve benchmark performances in Safety, Time To Mature Cum Yield, Continue Improvement and Cost. Your responsibilities also include establishing the Equipment Strategy, managing new tech-node equipment install/release.

Your objective is to ensure manufacturing to manufacturing technology transfers are executed effectively and efficiently, ensure Pilot line and Ramp risk mitigation plans are in place and being executed to, and that the FAB New Product Integration process is continuously improved. Examples to drive Tool of Record/Process of Record gap closure that mitigates ramp risk due to tool misalignment across sites. For yield ramp and volume ramp, Time To Mature Cum Yield projects , Tool Install Qualification and Non-Conforming Die are all need to be handled properly. This position requires collaborating with RD and Procurement as well as interaction with equipment and materials suppliers to drive area manufacturing issues forward and establish area improvement roadmaps. You are expecting to be willing and capable of effective collaboration with SITES, Manufacturing/Process Integration/Quality, R&D, Procurement, Quality Engineering, Business units, Manufacturing Center Team, and external suppliers to accomplish your objectives. You also should be willing and capable of international travel, as needed, to accomplish your objectives.


Responsibility

  • Develop the strategic vision for the team and guide the team to accomplish the vision
  • Planning and executing strategies for quality function to build new frontiers that can be barriers to
  • Collaborate with other division teams to meet the needs of all new parts, equipment
  • Establish Goals and lead the team to enable Micron to be Best in Class
  • Drive for efficiency in all work processes
  • Identify manage and monitor key performance indicators (critical metrics) for the department
  • Establish a dedicated quality control culture within the department (SPC/FDC, etc.)
  • Ensure effective management is maintained.
  • Drive process simplification projects and support RPT reductions to improve Fab efficiency and costs
  • Promote and model usage of systematic thinking processes
  • Manage new tool purchases and qualifications with planning, production and process engineering
  • Manage new process/product qualification and integration with TD, production and process engineering
  • Provide feedback to TD on process improvements being made at site to help enable a more efficient transfer on the next node
  • Coordinate with Central Teams to support global initiative, Copy good initiative and others as needed
  • Supplier engagement. Collaborate with suppliers to accelerate the learning.
  • Reduce in-line variation in terms of SPC cpk improvement, scrap reduction and yield tail reduction for better yield, Line yield and Quality index
  • Collaborate with networking, DRAM sites, One Taiwan to maximize the benefit for Micron in terms of yield, cost and output.
  • Requirements
  • Masters or Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering or Science discipline, or equivalent work experience.
  • Demonstrated success in a Micron Manager position
  • Thorough knowledge of the module team structure, standards and processes
  • Demonstrated success in leading teams in defining and solving process problems
  • Advanced and thorough understanding of the DRAM process
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong data analysis, problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • The ability to travel to remote sites for extended periods of time for training, information sharing, and implementation of systems to support the company goals is required
