Job Description

Job Description and Qualifications:

This sales position is responsible for selling Microbulk and small bulk cryogenic industrial gases (e.g., nitrogen, oxygen and argon) to a wide variety of market segments including hospitals, life sciences, laboratories, food packagers, metals fabrication and general industrial sites.
 

Primary responsibilities include new customer acquisition, meeting or exceeding assigned revenues and profit targets, and executing on new account initiation in a timely manner. Territory encompasses the greater Minneapolis area. This position reports directly to the Microbulk Sales Manager.

Principal accountabilities

  • Perform professional on-site presentations or demonstrations of company products and services
  • Support Air Products marketing efforts, such as seminars and trade show demonstrations
  • Establish a network of referrals to create new opportunities for revenue growth
  • Build relationships with all targeted accounts and achieve sales from within client base
  • Emphasize product and service features and benefits, quote prices, discuss credit terms, and explain the Microbulk Product Supply Agreement
  • Conduct face-to-face cold calls daily
  • Handle call schedule to efficiently cover assigned territory
  • Utilize DPP&L and CRM tools consistently
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including sales call reports and CRM tools
  • Follow industry trends related to products and services within territory activities
  • Use internal resources such as Commercial Technology, Product Management, Project Engineering and Logistics
  • 75% Travel, with limited overnight stays
 

Required qualifications

  • Post-secondary degree
  • High level of integrity and work ethic
  • Strong problem identification and resolution skills
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication and presentation skills
  • Effective listening skills
  • Proactive and positive attitude
 
  • Ability to:
    • work independently with limited supervision
    • problem solve and overcome objections
    • convert prospects into customers
    • build and maintain relationships
 

Preferred qualifications

  • 2-3 years of sales experience
  • Product-line, industry knowledge or industrial gas experience
  • Outside territory sales experience
