FPGA Software Engineers research, design, develop, and optimize software tools that enable the use of Field Programmable Gate Arrays. Develop and optimize compilers, flows, assemblers, models, tools and runtimes that are closely coupled to FPGA silicon, IP and boards, while leveraging strong knowledge of FPGA hardware, logic design, board design, semiconductor devices and chip layout. Design, develop and optimize software abstractions and frameworks for acceleration with the FPGA, for domains such as deep learning, DSP algorithms, and data analytics. Responds to customer/client requests or events as they occur. Develops solutions to problems utilizing formal education, and knowledge of the software process.
Qualifications
You must possess minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.
Minimum Education Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
Minimum Requirements
3+ years of experience in the following:
System software development experience in one or more programming/scripting languages (C/C++, Python/Perl/Tcl)
Strong experience with Python/Pytest framework and Gitlab/Jenkin CI (Continuous Integration) workflow
Experience with build process/makefiles (Shell scripting)
Preferred Qualifications
Master's Degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
Experience in system level debugging and comfortable with trouble shooting system software issues
Experience with FPGA design tool (e.g. Intel Quartus Prime)
Experience with Gitlab, GitHub, Perforce version control systems
Knowledge of RTL using (Verilog/VHDL/System Verilog) and UVM environment is a plus

Work Model for this Role
This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site.
