The Intel Programmable Solutions Group (PSG) is looking for talented, highly motivated university students to develop next generation video, imaging and vision solutions targeting far reaching Internet of Things applications, including interactive whiteboards, digital signage, smart factory and 8K Pro A/V systems.
As a software engineer you will be responsible for developing a wide range of embedded software, verification and data visualisation solutions, as part of a system engineering team in the Intel PSG Europe HQ, located in Marlow and Basingstoke. You will work in a rapid learning environment, alongside industry experts, who will support your daily development and knowledge growth. You will learn an Agile engineering development approach, frequently delivering high quality solutions to customers and communicating with your team daily to build innovative and creative products. Your opinions and thoughts are valued from day one.
The Intel PSG office environment offers personalised cube spaces with dedicated high specification PCs/laptops, multiple displays and access to local and global compute farms.

Key responsibilities:
- Full development lifecycle of FPGA video, imaging and vision IP's and systems from conception, through specification to implementation, verification, review and release.
- Software user interface design for FPGA based demonstrations at tradeshows worldwide
- Development of optimised Intel CPU application software for next generation Proof of Concept designs
- Embedded software drivers for FPGA based board support packages
Qualifications
Required skills include:
- Good software skills (C/C++)
- Understanding of hardware concepts
- Thirst for learning and good self-starter
- Loves working as part of a team, with good communication skills
This is a 13-month fixed-term placement suitable for students currently studying a degree course in relevant disciplines (e.g. Computer Science), and is targeted at 2nd year students enrolled in a 4 years bachelors degree which includes a year in industry.
Candidates must be based in the United Kingdom upon the start date of this internship, and for its entire duration. We are unable to support remote working from outside the UK.
