Job Description

Position: NCG Product Applications Engineer

 

Analog Devices Inc. is a world leader in the area of high-speed mixed-signal signal processing circuits. The Multi-Platform Group Applications Engineering team has an opening for a product applications engineer. This group develops narrow/wideband TRx products for aerospace, defense, instrumentation and communication applications (example: https://www.analog.com/en/products/adrv9002.html).

In this position you will work directly with software engineering, product engineering, production test, marketing, sales, and field applications engineers to enable customers to move fast from evaluation to prototyping with narrow/wideband TRx based designs, ensure a positive customer experience and win new design-ins. 

Applications teams are very customer focused group and work very closely with customers and Marketing department will be expected over time to help in the definition of future transceivers.  

 

Responsibilities

  • Primary technical support to customers to solve implementation issues relating to the use of transceivers. Support customers by phone, email, on-line forums and on-site visits to present information, answer questions, and debug customer issues. 
  • Integrate and troubleshoot software and hardware on evaluation boards.
  • Help to write documentation that describes silicon functionality, firmware, and software operation to customers. Train field applications engineers on incoming products and its functionalities.  
  • Help to define and implement eval board architecture and testing.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to engage with customers to understand, define and document customer system requirements.

 

Key Qualifications

  • Strong fundamentals in data converters, PLL, filters, mixed signal, and processor based systems.
  • Some programming experience in C, Python and some knowledge of data structures and software abstraction concepts such as an application programming interface (API).
  • Familiarity with bench test equipment including oscilloscopes, signal generators, spectrum analyzer and vector signal analyzers is desired.
  • Familiarity with the role of key RF design specifications (such as IIP3, Noise Figure, etc.) is preferred.
  • Familiarity with DSP algorithms (i.e. DDC, QEC etc.) is preferred. Knowledge about DPD and FPGA is a plus and is highly desired.
  • Ability to interact effectively with customers and other teams.
  • Team player, fluent in English with excellent oral and written communication skills.

 

Education

  • Bachelors degree or higher in electrical engineering or a related field, MS preferred
