Job Description

Position Overview:

Analog Devices is looking for an intelligent and versatile PCB Layout Designer to optimize the design of PCBs with respect to layout, electrical and mechanical constraints, manufacturability, and relative costs of various alternatives to join our RF Control Products Product team, based in Istanbul, Turkey, who will be responsible for PCB and Package development of our RF Switch, Attenuator, Amplifier and MCM products for various markets.

Context on the role:

As a PCB Designer, you will perform a full range of product development activities including, Customer Evaluation Boards, SiP (System in Package) Designs, ATE Final Test Board Designs, Characterization Board Designs, Reliability Board Designs, Application Board Designs but not limited to: only RF PCB and Package designs, also support for PCB Orders, keeping track of components/necessary materials, assembly orders, communicating with PCB vendors for Manufacturability related matters.

Job Duties:

  • Design Scheduling, planning and reporting with the respected design teams.
  • Design Feasibility, following up with the IC Design teams, Test Engineering Teams, Product Engineering Teams, Application Engineering Teams.
  • Requesting the initial PCB & Package Designs, library parts (in IPC Standards), keeping track of these designs in their respective internal company database systems.
  • Maintain Design databases and component library, including symbol and footprint generation.
  • Preparing required schematic designs, BOMs, necessary documentations, routing multilayer PCBs and Package Layouts, (2,4,6,8 and above). Work alongside with engineers throughout every step of the design process from prototypes through production.
  • Ordering PCBs, component kitting, assembly
  • Preparing the PCB and Package designs in ADI Product release procedures.
  • Collaborate with PCB suppliers to improve design rules, constraints, testability, and manufacturability.
  • Independently determine general approach and provide reliable solutions to technical problems including work through complex issues as they appear on layouts.

Requirements*:

  • Degree in 2 year Vocational School of Technical Sciences of related fields and/or Bs Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering
  • At least 2 years of experience of using industry known PCB Design Software (Cadence Allegro, Orcad PCB Editor, Altium Designer/Protel, PADS, P-CAD, etc.).
  • Experience with reading schematics, placement for low parasitic circuitry, inductance and RF PCB layout techniques.
  • Familiarity with high frequency RF circuit board design and clearance requirements, with frequency up to 67GHz.
  • Knowledge for CAD/CAM/CAE softwares like AutoCAD, DraftSight, Solid Works, Gerber Editors etc and adaptability to these type of softwares is a plus.
  • A good understanding of the PCB layout process and IPC Standards.
  • Familiarity with PCB fabrication, design for manufacturing techniques for high volume designs. Having your own PCB designs fabricated in industry is a plus.
  • Experience in test equipment and RF characterization is a plus.
  • Motivated, results oriented and organized PCB Designer with good writing, presentation and overall communication skills
  • Willingness and ability to learn something new quickly
  • Comfortable taking calculated risks
  • Innately curious with a desire to understand the business model, operations, financial structure for the organization
  • Has a bias for action and works in collaboration with others to deliver results
  • High tolerance for ambiguity
