Job Description
PRIMARY FUNCTION Maintain offices, conference rooms, washroom and showers/locker rooms cleanliness in the plant, security building, cafeteria and in the administration building. Maintain washroom supplies. In the administration building: Clean lobby windows, sweep carpets, wax floors, maintain stairwells. Clean and mop Medical daily. Change light bulbs as needed. Perform incidental, minor repairs and installations for the Administration building. In the plant: maintain plant, offices and washroom cleanliness. Maintain washroom and cleaning supplies. Cleaning as directed will include, but not be limited to windows, walls, light bulbs, tubes and reflectors, guard rails, water fountains, the cafeteria, machines and shop equipment. Stock supplies for copiers/printers as needed. TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT Hand truck, brooms, mops, buckets, shovels, trash receptacles, electric floor polisher, vacuum cleaner, electric scrubber, ladders, rags, squeegee, heating and washing tank and material handling equipment. MATERIAL Cleaning compounds and solutions, soap, wax, disinfectant, washroom supplies, light bulbs, trash bags, scrap materials, etc. Qualifications JOB REQUIREMENTS Must be able to lift up to and including forty (40) pounds. Must be able to work the hours outlined in the Labor Agreement. Education Requirements: High School Diploma or GED WORKING PROCEDURE The following are the usual major job duties but this job description does not preclude the performance of other duties by the incumbent, nor the question being raised on the proper rate of pay for the assignment. Receive work assignment from supervisor. Work according to posted schedule and oral instructions as required. Sweep and clean floors in offices, conference rooms, eating areas, washrooms, and toilets. Wax and polish floors as directed. Clean and disinfect washrooms, lavatories, toilets and drinking fountains. Replenish washroom supplies such as: soap, towels and toilet tissue. Notify supervisor of needed materials. Clean windows, walls, light bulbs, tubes and reflectors. Clean machines and shop equipment as directed. Replace burned out light bulbs, tubes and reflectors. Work from ladders. Arrange chairs and tables as directed. Remove waste, trash, sweepings and scrap to designated areas. Dust and clean physical equipment such as: desks, tables, and office equipment. Maintain janitorial and washroom supplies in clean and orderly condition. Report defective windows, light fixtures and electrical receptacles. Keep cleaning closets neat and orderly.
