Eaton’s Corporate Sector and IT team is looking to hire a Facilities Engineer - Mission Critical to join our team. This position is based at our Louisville, KY or Simpsonville, KY site. Eaton is currently looking for an experienced information technology professional to support our mission critical facilities in the United States. This role will be based in Louisville, KY. The individual is responsible for all duties of facilities management, including Security, Space Management, and all Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) systems for our Mission Critical Facilities located in the greater Louisville, KY metro. The Mission Critical Facilities Engineer will provide risk mitigation and assurance that all support systems operate as designed. Coordinating transportation of IT equipment within and into the facility. Provisioning power for new IT equipment or decommissioning of IT equipment. Space allocation management on the data center floor. Manage the Mission Critical Facilities Preventative Maintenance Program. Develop (as appropriate) and execute all written Methods of Procedures (MOPs) or Operating Procedures that are required to properly service and maintain the facility. This includes all routine daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual preventative maintenance tasks and responsibilities. Maintain a critical equipment repository and inventory. Maintain a repository of operating procedures, MOP’s, etc. that are required to properly service and maintain the facility infrastructure. Provide detailed oversight and preventative maintenance for all HVAC and Electrical systems. Practice and maintain normal and emergency procedures and call lists for all systems and facilities infrastructure. Maintain and manage equipment documentation, O&M manuals, as-built drawings for all building equipment and systems. Manage the procurement process for all facility systems critical spares and general usage items. Establish inventory control programs with appropriate parts stocking levels and timely records of receipts. Manage the submittal and Supply Chain approval process for all approved Vendors and business partners. Manage Vendors and business partners in the execution of all Preventative Maintenance tasks. This includes Invoice interfacing. Building Operations Management Assume direct involvement in critical engineering and operational activities related to facility systems in emergency situations. Immediately respond to operational and emergency situations. Maintain a thorough knowledge and understanding of all the physical elements of the building. Development and implementation of data center processes and procedures. Development and implementation of energy efficiency practices for the data center and critical facilities infrastructure. Assist in the development and implementation of disaster recovery and business continuity planning for the data center and critical facilities infrastructure. Coordinate with IT Facilities regarding all planned and unplanned site engineering activities. Be available by email and cell phone, as practical, to handle emergencies that may occasionally arise outside of normal, onsite working hours. Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the facilities including all building systems. Proactively monitor operation of electrical and mechanical equipment supporting the facility. Responsible for government regulatory compliance, EPA/OSHA compliance, safety program, CFC handling, and other similar programs at all State and Federal levels. Coordinate with vendors and suppliers and act as focal point for all matters or requests related to the facility. Ensure the gathering of all Mission Critical Facilities (MCF) measurements and population of the Balanced Scorecard (BSC) Ensure Vendor Invoices are received and accurate and coordinate all budgeting / forecasting work as appropriate. Develop, manage, and test all Emergency Operating and Evacuation Procedures. Assist on internal / external site audits for Data Center and Facility Management. Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: High school diploma required. A minimum of 2 years of data center or engineering experience required. No relocation benefit is provided for this role. Candidates must reside within a 50-mile radius of Louisville, KY or Simpsonville, KY to be considered for this opportunity. This position requires use of information or access to hardware which may be subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Candidate must be authorized to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship now or in the future. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution Minimum 5years of work experience in Data Center Facilities Operation and Infrastructure Management in mission-critical data centers Position Criteria: Strong Leadership, Communication, and Presentation skills. Valid electrical or HVAC refrigeration license is preferred. Ability to read and interpret as-builts, construction drawings and documents. Strong technical knowledge of electrical theory and practical use in the maintenance and operation of mission critical power equipment; paralleling switchgear, redundant uninterruptible power supply systems, DC battery strings (multiple battery technologies), multi-source electrical utility switchgear, standby generators, and diesel fuel storage and delivery systems. Strong technical knowledge in the operation and function of computer room environments, consisting of various heating and cooling systems; Centrifugal chillers, chilled water and closed loop systems, high-capacity chilled water systems, CRAH air handing equipment and knowledge of water treatment practices. Technical knowledge and ability to monitor and understand computerized air conditioning, electrical energy management systems, multi-level fire and smoke detection and suppression systems. Working knowledge of Computer Aided Design software. Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
