On the IJ, about 2 km away from Amsterdam Central Station is one of the largest factory installations of our company. This site is part of the Catalysts business Unit, one of the largest producers of catalysts for the oil industry in the world. On this site we produce catalysts for the oil industry and there is also a research center. Research focuses on the development of new generation catalysts for high-tech applications such as ultra-low sulfur fuels and new generations of biofuels.
Within our Research, Development &Technology (R&T) department, a vacancy has arisen for a:
Experienced R&T HSE Manager
In this position you lead the Operational Group with the aim of organizing HSE, facility, maintenance and administrative tasks for the entire R&T more efficiently. You are the point of contact for facility, maintenance & HSE matters within R&T and fulfil the bridge function of R&T to the Maintenance and QHSE departments.
In addition to your responsibility for the R&T buildings and maintenance coordination, you are responsible for translating corporate and site HSE policy into practical guidelines for R&T and the implementation of HSE policy, and leading or coordinating facility and HSE related (capital) projects.
Tasks and responsibilities
Leading the operational group
Contact point within R&T for HSE, Facility/Maintenance related matters
Part of the R&T management team
Making proposals to improve efficiency and/or quality concerns facility management, maintenance and HSE processes within RD&T and creating support within and outside the R&T organization (Maintenance &QHSE)
Taking a leading role in improvement projects and ensuring implementation and follow-up
Executing and/or coordinating HSE, facility and/or utility related (capital) projects
Responsible for the management of facilities and coordination of long-term maintenance plans for the R&T buildings
Aligning priorities around facilities & maintenance matters within R&T and with Maintenance
Supporting and initiating improvements to laboratory safety
Chairing and managing the R&T HSE team
Representing R&T in site and corporate safety initiatives and/or committees
Requirements:
Technical MSc training with at least 5 years of work experience, BSc training with at least 10 years of work experience
Experience in a research environment is a
Experience with operational management, budget management and similar management tasks
Knowledge of general maintenance
Good computer skills, knowledge of SAP
Knowledge of HSE guidelines in the laboratory field
MVK training
Fluent in Dutch and English, both written and oral
Leadership skills, entrepreneurship, solution orientation and flexibility
Service-oriented and positive attitude
Good communication and organizational skills
