Come join a creative team of Energy Managers dedicated to achieving the BMW Groups challenging environmental commitments. The role is a 2 year Graduate Placement starting in September 2020. The Energy team are directly responsible for three of BMW’s manufacturing sites in the UK (Hams Hall, Oxford & Swindon), have a steering/governance role for the wider EMEA region and close links with Central colleagues in Munich. Within this role the successful applicant will interact with all departments and have the opportunity to visit each of our sites including Rolls Royce within day to day activities.

What awaits you?
• Support the EMEA region working on strategic targets of the BMW Group.
• Develop and implement energy efficiency projects and measures, identifying new innovations and share best practice within the BMW Group.
• Plan and implement energy initiatives for new construction, renovations, retrofits and behavioural changes that maximise energy conservation.
• Promote energy efficiency within the wider business, focusing on implemented projects and promotion of energy efficiency activities using a range of different medias to reach out to all target groups.
• Communicate performance and results to the business while developing tools and techniques to account for changing business processes and forecast the potential impacts.
• Provide regular energy reports to meet business targets, budget requirements and external regulation compliance.
• Chair and arrange meetings with key stakeholders within the business
• Track and identify energy performance within our facilities and ensure utilities are available.
• Question how we currently undertake activities in the pursuit of continual improvement.

• Degree in business management or engineering fields and on track to achieve a 2:1.
• Proactive with a ‘hands on’ approach and a positive ‘can do’ attitude.
• Confidence and good communication with a desire to improve and the ability to put ideas forwards.
• Good communication utilising a range of different media.
• Decisive, show initiative, and leadership qualities.
• Awareness of environmental control measures/ management systems.
• Ability to work well under pressure and be capable of managing technical standards within an organization.
• Understanding of technical systems (for example HVAC, refrigeration, lighting operation & manufacturing processes).
