Major Duties:
(a) To prepare tenders, drawings, layouts, cost estimates, work orders, work schedules, maintenance programmes, and all related documents for building maintenance, major and minor alteration and addition works, various trades of building services installation, and building management;
(b) To support the coordination work with consultants, contractors and other operation units of THEi or VTC on the execution or scheduling of works from design stage through to completion, handover and defects rectification;
(c) To assist in monitoring and reporting contractor’s performance and works progress to ensure the completion of works on time, delivery of quality products and fulfillment of statutory requirements; and
(d) To undertake investigations of building management / systems / facilities and make recommendations for improvement.
Requirements:
(a) (i) A recognised degree in Building Services Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Building Studies, or equivalent, with at least 2 years’ post-degree relevant work experience in a supervisory capacity; OR
(ii) A recognised higher diploma in relevant fields, with at least 5 years’ relevant work experience in a supervisory capacity;
(b) Experience and knowledge in building works including renovation, fitting-out & addition, and alternation & improvement works;
(c) Solid knowledge in construction industry;
(d) Ability to work under pressure and independently;
(e) Good supervisory, interpersonal and communication skills;
(f) Proficiency in English and Chinese; and
(g) Experience in handling of term maintenance contracts in tertiary educational institution will be an advantage.
Notes:
(1) The contract period will last until the end of August 2022.
(2) The post is at the rank of Officer.
(3) Shortlisted applicants will be required to attend and pass a written test in Chinese and English.
(4) The appointee may be required to perform duties at different sites and work irregular hours, shifts and on Saturdays and Sundays.
(5) The remuneration package will be competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
