AstraZeneca has expanded and strengthened its respiratory products portfolio, We have made strides in bringing therapies to asthma patients. Our mission and vision are to develop differentiated therapeutics for widely prevalent respiratory disease conditions, including chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), by utilizing a proprietary drug delivery platform and existing therapeutic agents administered in metered-dose inhalers (MDIs).

The Facilities Manager will lead the Facilities Group in supporting commercial and clinical manufacturing operations at the Redwood City Site. Ensures that the facility, facility equipment, and associated business processes operate in a safe, compliant, and reliable manner.

  • Ensure that the Facilities Group adheres to all SHE policies and practices. Lead the group in identifying potential safety issues, supporting safety investigations, and following safety programs (hot work, hazardous energy, arc flash, confined space, working at height, etc.).

  • Ensure all aspects of the facility and associated equipment are operating acceptably. Ensure that facility systems deviations are promptly reported, investigations are thorough and on time, and any resulting CAPA is effective and implemented according to an agreed-upon schedule.

  • Oversee the Preventive Maintenance and Calibration Program, including on-time execution, spare parts, contractor management

  • Maintain facility documentation and drawings in AutoCAD (equipment, maintenance, and calibration records, etc.) for GMP compliance

  • Oversee team budget, facility shutdowns, capital projects (including planning, budgeting, scheduling, monitoring, and inspecting facility modifications).

  • TPM and reliability-centered maintenance ​

Education:

  • BS degree in an engineering field​

Required:

  • Minimum of 7 years of facility maintenance or manufacturing engineering experience.

  • Minimum 3 years in a leadership role within a engineering group.

  • AutoCAD proficiency

  • SAP Plant Maintenance proficiency

  • Minimum 5 years of experience with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP)

  • Working knowledge of cleanroom/GMP utilities/systems including HVAC, Purified Water, Process Gases.​

Preferred:

  • Experience with SAP Materials Management Module

  • Commercial GMP manufacturing experience

  • Experience in implementing reliability-centered maintenance (RCM).

  • Calibration program experience

  • Smart factory experience​
