The Facilities Technician will support the Durham, NC facility and report to the Senior Manufacturing manager. In this role, you ensure smooth day-to-day operations within the office, laboratory, and manufacturing areas, be adept at resolve facilities issues, draw on significant hands-on experience as well as an understanding of when and how to contract required work. Ideally, have HVAC, mechanical, and cGMP experience.

What you will do:

  • Maintain all building systems and equipment, including but not limited to, HVAC, CDA, vacuum, 01/RO, Purified Water systems, N2 systems, hot water boilers, chillers, electrical equipment, and BMS control systems.

  • Trouble-shoot mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems

  • Effectively and safely operate complex electrical and mechanical building equipment and systems.

  • Perform and complete daily facilities equipment and utilities monitoring and data recording.

  • Complete work requests for lab, office, and facilities systems in a timely matter, while offering superb customer service.

  • Manage and coordinate vendor visits for general maintenance, preventative maintenance, and emergency repair activities. Work with equipment vendors on repairs, preventative maintenance, and system upgrades

  • Ensure all preventative maintenance is completed on schedule, either in-house or by a vendor, while maintaining equipment history files on all equipment, assist in troubleshooting manufacturing equipment issues where necessary on a routine basis

  • Perform general building and facility maintenance and cleaning, participate in equipment, office, and lab furniture reconfiguration, set-up, installations, and moves.

  • Immediately respond to emergency situations such as fire, evacuation, and equipment failure.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • A High School diploma / GED is required

Required:

  • Minimum of five years of experience, preferably in a GMP facility

  • Ability to work safely around hazardous materials

  • Trouble-shooting skills and abilities to test facility and building equipment.

  • Ability to perform electrical maintenance, plumbing, patching, painting, and carpentry.

  • Ability to effectively read blueprints, schematic drawings, technical manuals, and instructions.

  • Ability to operate a PC and sit and stand for extended periods of time. Some lifting required (not more than 50 lbs.). Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Preferred:

  • Maintenance experience in a high-tech, pharmaceutical, or biotech environment.​
