For our Abbott Diagnostics Division we are looking for an experienced, skilled professional to join our team in Czech Republic as a Laboratory Design Facility Engineer, Implementation and Integration. This is a field-based position requiring traveling across Czechia and abroad (EMEA countries).
Primary objective of the position:
The Facility Engineer will be involved in all project preparation work and all facility, utility and equipment aspects during the whole project cycle. He/She will be responsible to manage control and monitor all internal and external factors affecting the project success as they related to the facility.
Major accountabilities:
- Conducts the pre-site checklists with customers to ensure the site has proper structure, water, power, connectivity, temperature control, operating procedures, and waste management systems prepared before product arrival.
- Prepare the project as per the organization standards and procedure.
- Monitoring and control of external Consultants/Specialists.
- Deal with external and internal customers, clients and manage their expectations.
- Report to the project management/program management all the projects status
- Implement quality management systems requirements related to the Projects and look for opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Control and monitor the daily execution work in the project.
- Review the outsource contracts and manage subcontractors.
- Claims and impact analysis.
- Represent the organization in clients' project meetings.
- Act as the mail technical advisor on construction site for subcontractors, craftspeople and operatives.
- Prepare, update and check plans, drawings and quantities for accuracy of calculations.
- Ensure that all materials used and work performed are in accordance with specification.
- Manage, monitor and interpret the contract design documents supplied by a client or architect.
- Oversee quality control, health and safety matters on site.
Requirements:
- University degree in Engineering or similar with experience with construction/facility/hospital projects.
- Minimum 3 years of professional engineering experience, preferably within medical/lab sector.
- Good knowledge of electrical systems, structural elements and media required in laboratory.
- Project management experience.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Computer skills (project management software and AutoCad).
- Very good knowledge of English (both written and spoken).
- Willingness to travel cross-country in EMEA region (20-30% of travelling abroad) and to travel across Czech Republic on a daily basis (3-4 days a week).
