Facility Manager, Western Region

Job Description

The Regional Facility Manager provides direct technical & project management support for internal customers. He/she will have operational oversight in managing the service provider covering hard services (HVAC, MEP, FLS, etc.) and soft services (landscaping, janitorial, waste management, office support services). Communicates effectively with internal customers. Fosters interactions with our internal customers for maximum effective working relationship with BMW. 

The Western Region includes sites located in the following areas; Oxnard, CA, Redlands, CA, Ontario, CA, Stockton, CA, and Newbury Parks, CA.  There will also be site support required (as needed) at the Thermal Performance Center, Mountain View Technology and Sacramento Government Office.

Key responsibilities: 

  • Plan and coordinate various maintenance projects (kick-off through handover)
  • Issue effective and efficient resolution through communication, analytical thinking, risk management and problem-solving skills
  • Act as the primary interface between IFM’s organization and the BMW site managers. Providing operational oversight of service delivery. Provide advice and counsel to BMW sites regarding the terms and conditions of the MSA.
  • Routinely perform workorder PM audits, confirm system asset information, review PM schedules and workorder task list accuracy and relevance in CMMS
  • Review service levels and contractual commitments for the respective topic, review and approve IFM invoices, assist in forecasting headcount resource and budget / spend requirements and monitor building management systems
  • Support energy management team in continues improvement measures and projects
  • Manage environmental database (ERA) tasks to ensure BMW’s compliance with local authorities
  • Represent facility maintenance various construction projects, ensuring facility needs are addressed
  • Develops processes that drive FM team continuous improvement and implement actions
  • Act as participant on special departmental project teams
  • Support security, environmental and construction groups, as needed
  • Work with local authorities on facility related topics and projects
  • Works effectively with FM, BMW & IFM Personnel to achieve premium results for internal customers
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management

  • B.S. in a Technical Field of study or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of experience in Facility Management or a related field, 5+ years of supervisory experience in a technical management position.
  • Project Management: 3 years of experience in managing projects $50K-$250K in value
  • 3+ years skilled in communicating ideas in technical and user-friendly terminolog
  • 3+ years skilled written and verbal communication skills through business applicatio
  • 3+ years of problem solving and analytical skill
  • 3+ years of ability to work with minimal supervisio
  • 3+ years of skilled usage in Microsoft Office Word, Excel and PowerPoin
  • 3+ years of knowledge in database systems, SAP preventative preferred
