As part of China Factory Operations for Oculus, you will be responsible managing day to day operations with our global manufacturing partners in South China. You will work directly with our advanced manufacturing engineering, quality, reliability, manufacturing test, hardware and electrical engineering, product safety & compliance, as well as corporate social responsibility teams to ensure the successful execution of launches of our products. The main focus will be to launch our high-quality products cost competitively, and with the focused responsiveness to ensure product availability in the channels at the required times. Ultimately, you will be the leader on the ground in our Final Assembly, Test, and Packout Facilities (FATP) and executing as the leader to ensure execution as agreed to by several x-functional teams in South China. Ensuring partner compliance with our launch volumes, costs, quality, reliability and social responsibility are all key metrics for this role.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • You will be responsible for tactical execution with our partners and x-functional teams in the following areas:
  • Working with our manufacturing partner to design and layout the FATP (final assembly, test, and pack-out) line by applying lean and Six Sigma technology. This will be done in collaboration with other x-functional Facebook teams.
  • Ensuring partners are applying ultimate quality practices at FATP and including incoming components and modules
  • Driving yield and UPH improvements with our partners and in collaboration with other x-functional Facebook teams.
  • Driving cost and cycle time reductions with our partners and in collaboration with other x-functional Facebook teams.
  • Driving ramp and MP readiness. our partners and in collaboration with other Facebook x-functional teams.
  • You will be part of the Technical Operations team in South China and will partner closely with several Facebook x-functional teams and including: Hardware Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Advanced Manufacturing Engineering, Product Safety & Compliance, Quality Engineering, Reliability Engineering, Test Engineering, Product Operations Management, Logistics and Trade Compliance, Legal, and other x-functional partners and as needed to ensure successful program launches.
  • Execution to Product Development Process and all associated Phase Gates.
  • Develop manufacturing processes at the factory and drive line qualifications by working with XFN teams and CM partners
  • Drive cost and cycle time reduction through line balancing, and line automation
  • Drive FACA (Failure Analysis Corrective Action) and yield bridge to mass production with our partners and other Facebook x-functional teams.
  • Influence product manufacturability, testability, serviceability, reliability, flexibility and cost effectiveness by coordinating cross-functional teams during early development and ramp You will also be a key member of Oculus Operations Team and drive strategic decision in the following areas:
  • Ideal partner selection for future products
  • Global manufacturing footprint decisions to secure supply and mitigate geopolitical risks.
  • Decisions on CM vs. JDM vs. ODM design, development and manufacturing initiatives
  • Drive IP protection and enforcement if issues arise globally
  • Engage as a key leader in the areas of supplier plan of record and future product architectures
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • 15+ years’ experience in Plant/Operations/General Management in manufacturing company in China, with 8+ leadership experience
  • Demonstrated technical skills and experience, including a detailed understanding of Final Assembly, Test, Pack and SMT processes
  • Ideal candidates are those with experience in high volume mass production
  • Candidates must have strong manufacturing process experience
  • Candidate must demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills, keen focus on driving business results, ability to work in ambiguous environments, and strong willingness to collaborate and optimize overall business objectives
  • Background driving China-based manufacturers, remotely and in-person
  • Experience in using process driven and analytical approaches to problem-solving (Six Sigma, 8D, FMEA, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of GD&T, data analysis and statistics
  • Proven bottom line project management experience (Planning, Cost, & Delivery)
  • Proven strong interpersonal and communication skills, Fluent in written and spoken Mandarin and English
  • Ability to operate in dynamic, fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to travel up to 30 to 40% within Mainland China with some travel to Asia Pacific region and US
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience with optical systems and or Clean room setup
  • Experience with automated system bring up and qualification
  • Experience with data analysis using JMP
  • Experience with GD&T & tolerance analysis
