Job Description
We are looking for a dedicated Quality Engineer to work with our internal teams and external partners to drive robust quality processes throughout the supply chain. You will be responsible for setting up and auditing quality control plans at the factory as well as monitoring production yield/reliability tests on an ongoing basis. You will also work with the cross functional team to understand field performance and drive improvement activities in the factories. Main scope below:
Ensure that Square products are made to the Quality standards that we’ve established
Lead continuous improvement activities on Process and Product Quality - including Quality activities in Contract Manufacturers’ (CM) sites and Square internal teams
Audit CMs to identify gaps in our existing processes followed by solutions - Regular Quality Audit on a monthly basis; Audit Report Review and Update (quality and production process audit)
Establish requirements for regular quality reporting from CMs - Review Daily, Weekly and Monthly Reports for sustaining projects; Define format and approach for NPIs (daily, weekly, monthly yield report, monthly repair/scrap data review)
Lead root-cause analysis and process studies in the case of quality excursions
Identify, establish, and standardize quality specifications, such as IQC of critical components
Engage NPIs to identify the risks and gaps and drive mitigation plans/activities; manage Quality entrance and exit for NPI stages
Train CM quality teams to provide value-added analysis in their FA/CA report
Review ORT/FA analysis and be the bridge to provide insight for team’s review and decision (weekly ORT/FA report review, and new component/process REL testing report/defect FA report review)
Scale up - Train CMs to understand these processes support CMs’ business better and leverage CMs by having them take ownership of their own processes
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in BS ME/EE/CE preferred
3+ years experience in manufacturing and quality management
Understand factory process and operations and have experience partnering with CMs
Familiar with SMT/FATP Process and the related knowledge of critical control/management
Excellent communication skills in both Mandarin and English
Strong interpersonal and project leadership
Great team player
Open minded to cultural differences
Detail Oriented
Being able to navigate through ambiguity
Ability to travel to Contract Manufacturing partners to support builds on site
Technical background (i.e. Testing/Mechanical) is a plus
Exceptional analytical and Excel skills is a plus
JMP preferred, but not a requirement
